One-of-a-kind hotel! A former prison, with the manager having been a former prisoner. We enjoyed this novel environment very much. It's both a hotel and a museum of sorts! Good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Loved it!

Excellent location in the heart of the arendal. Lovely host, Qing, who welcomed us so warmly and attended to all of our needs. Room is very clean and has all the basic and essential things we need. Breakfast was simple but very delicious.

Fantastic restaurant with wonderful local fare - moose, local trout (best I have ever had). Attentive staff, great sitting areas for relaxing this is a luxury facility.

The room was lovely, warm and really clean. The breakfast was delicious, especially the crispy bacon and eggs! The reception was lovely but as it was quiet season it was only open to allow us to check in. The location is wonderful, right on the water and close to bars and restaurants.

Fantastic breakfast included for early or late starters. Had a lovely buffet dinner the night we arrived and cold beer. Tea/coffee facilities available in foyer and room. Games room with many games, and large public lounge room. Interesting Norwegian historical items scattered throughout the hotel. Norwegian country decor. Very quiet at night. Lovely pier to sit over fjord at night.
