"We loved Fig da Foz! A fairly quite resort town, just what we like! The only drawback is a pulp or paper mill located south of town. When the fog comes in so does the smell of the mill. We would consider living here if the mill is not a huge problem."

"Nazare's beach front areas are tourist centered, busy (read crowded in season), and the tourists are having fun. A place to eat, watch people, and get some sun. The city above it, Sitio, is good for views but eat in Nazare. Solar dos Carvalhos gracious receptionist recommended that we try to eat at Restaurante A Tasquinha. We ended up there 3 times and my wife had grilled sea bass twice, I had their clams twice, and we shared Cataplana which was over the top. Make reservation at the restaurant as they may be completely occupied with providing mountains of food and service to their customers."

"We loved this city. It’s not tourist-packed town and it’s a perfect size, with lovely parks and nice shops and restaurants. People better are kind. That will help you with any language barriers if you’re patient. We enjoyed a nice ramen dinner nearby. Prices are reasonable in the city. The weather was beautiful and became cooler in the evenings."

"Peniche town is charming, a tiny jewel on the dramatic coast with beaches, cliffs, islands, historic buildings and twisty streets, and views. It's pretty small; consider a visit to the whole region (get a car; public busses run but are infrequent) not just to the town of Peniche. I would recommend visiting that whole section of coast."

"We were in town for the medieval fair. Really fun overnight stay. Highly recommend. Be prepared to walk. You basically park in big public lots and then a very short walk up to town. My wife had recently had her knee replaced and it was a little difficult for her. Basically, if you are not really physically challenged it is nothing to worry about, but now seeing the world with a new appreciation for physical limitations I point it out for consideration. Lots of good food options. Very nice people."

There’s a great flea market there on Sundays. You are 15 minutes from obidos by bus and 15 minutes by train to Sao Maoutino da Porto, both of which are well worth visiting"

"There was a festival going on the last weekend in August, and we enjoyed all the small vendors set up all around the town center as well as a really good concert! Otherwise, the Monastery was very interesting to visit, and there are a lot of good restaurants and pastry shops as well. We used Alcobaça as a "home base" for visiting other nearby tourist sites, such as Nazaré, Fatima, and Batalha - all worth the trip. We'd also nhighly recommend a quiet little family restaurant - Restaurant Portas de Fora, on a side street close to the monastery."

It was definitely a five star experience from the welcome desk and personal orientation to our room to the tranquil spa and everything in between. The staff really made us feel comfortable. The location was easy walking distance to Porto and waterfront shopping and restaurants. And the view from our room was spectacular overlooking the river. We would love to stay again!

Nice place to stay for weekends. Well decorated cozy room (we booked suite just because usual room was not available). Free privet parking. Nice atmosphere around the swimming pool. Palms. Bar. Nice music. Place to seat. Place for sunbathing. Chilling mood. Very tasty food we ordered near swimming pool (pizza, sweet doce batata frita, tiramisu etc.) But please book the table in the restaurant for dinner ahead.
