GermanyIt’s clean and the space is larger than I expected. The instructions are clear. The location is near airport and just 2-3 mins drive. The hosts are really kind, helpful and they respond actively. I lost my jacket in the house and the host took it to the airport and gave it back to me.

ThailandWe had 2 nights stay here after get flight cancellation and to our surprises, the house is very spacias and private. 2 bedrooms and all equipped with the necessary things at home. Free parking and very privy. The location is closed to the airport (at the back of the airport) a bit far by walking with luggages, but very tranquil and quiet. Fabio is very helpful and supportive as we are stuck here for flight cancellation. Highly recommended.

Everything about this place is amazing. I kept telling my family the photos of Casa Da Sogra and of Faja Grande (the town) don't do it justice. There's seriously nothing more pretty and the sheer peace and nature available to you just as you sit on your balcony is amazing. Safe, extremely clean, quiet, and loving. Thank you, Nelson, for a truly unique experience that will always feel like a dream. We also had the sweetest cat friend visit every day and I think I'll be sending gifts back for this cat for a while to come. Miss her already!

Dona Julia was extremely friendly and helpful, she even called her son that’s in charge of the sight seeing and trip to Corvo to book for us. The sightseeing in Flores is amazing with the caves, waterfalls and dolphins, everyone visiting should take the day to do this you’ll love it.

The reception employee was so nice, answered any and all questions with such kindness. The place was cleaned everyday, which was really nice to come back to after a long beautiful day of hiking or sightseeing. We had a beautiful patio with the view of a waterfall making it hard to want to leave.

the location right on the oceanfront is perhaps the prime location in all of Faja Grande. The offseason rate was excellent value and the surrounding vistas are unparalleled anywhere.

This is a little town, set in a truly beautiful place.
This is a little town, set in a truly beautiful place. There are a few restaurants available, but groceries are very limited. You really should have a car to visit. I've been to Flores island 3 times and I think Faja Grande is the best place to stay on the island. If you like Nature and hiking, Flores is really wonderful--just be aware that flights can be cancelled or delayed, groceries are limited on the island and there is often fog in some of the nicest places. On a nice day, it is hard to beat the spectacular scenery and good hikes or drives and there are some good restaurants as well.

The people were very welcoming.
The people were very welcoming. This is probably the prettiest place we have been. This is a great island for hiking and enjoying nature. Meal options are limited but good, hearty food. If we had it to do over again we would probably go in the Spring when the flowers were in bloom.

The village is small and on Sundays there’s only two...
The village is small and on Sundays there’s only two restaurants open (low season). Weather is unpredictable and not so warm (18°C). Our host Ricardo recommends coming here in September when it’s still warm and the sea is about 25°C. We saw a lot of trekkers everywhere. On Flores you definitely would need a car. Close to the village iate a couple of stunning waterfalls.

I liked that it was near the famous sites and in a quiet area. It is an old house so I found it very cold and it also had a musky smell. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of blankets to stay warm. The shower was plenty hot and there were long soft towels to dry off. I had problems with the lock box not working easily. I was disappointed that there were no stores or a bakery as it’s a very small village. Buy what you need in Santa Cruz. The island is gorgeous and this side has so many waterfalls to enjoy.

A magical village with kind helpful people.
A magical village with kind helpful people. The village is like something out of a fairytale, perfect scenery, with beautiful well kept livestock, has such a nostalgic feel. The food was incredibly fresh and tasty, we also stayed in Sao Miguel (5 star hotel) but the food here was of a way better standard! Be carful when driving at night, ensure you have an offline map as signal is weak down some winding country lanes- we got quite lost and roads are very steep.

From the waterfalls in the west, to the lovely walkable city...
From the waterfalls in the west, to the lovely walkable city of Santa Cruz in the east, Flores is a delight. Get your hiking boots ready as there are many beautiful trails to check out on this island, but plan on a few days as the weather can be unpredictable and it would be a pity not to see Flores in full sunshine.

Absolutely stunning island.
Absolutely stunning island. The natural beauty left me in awe many times. I hope this natural landscape is protected. The whale museum was very educational and worth the visit. Although I think they should charge more than one Euro for entrance. It was easy to get around with our small rental car.

It is really a paradise.
It is really a paradise. On one hand I want to share my joy from getting to see it, on the other it needs to stay pure and forgotten by the masses. When flying there, our plane had to turn back because of a technical issue, as if I was asked if I really mean it. If you love and respect nature, go for it!
