pros" lots of shopping areas and restaurants with in walking distance of most hotels. cons: parking can fill up fast and beach space in peak seasons. traffic leaving the area to larger shopping areas can eat up time.

The best part about Dewey Beach it was very quiet but at night it was definitely the party night both nights we were there, but we had good restaurants. The breakfast was good in the hotel. Our Bed was so comfortable and it was quiet. And the beach was beautiful. Had two perfect days.!!

Fenwick Island was a pleasant surprise.

Fenwick Island was a pleasant surprise. We have visited some other beaches on the Eastern Shore, but never Fenwick. It is much smaller than the other beaches and much quieter. The beach was never crowded and we were always able to find a spot close to the water with plenty of room to spread out with beach umbrellas, chairs, and blankets. Lifeguards are onsite. Highly recommend it for young families or those looking for a quieter version of the larger beach communities.

The beach was great!

The beach was great! The beach was very clean and the sand was very soft. There were plenty of life guards all long the beach which made you feel very safe. We really enjoyed the Labor Day Jazz Funeral. We have never experienced anything like that before and we were amazed at the amount by the show of support by the local people that came out to welcome the lifeguards back in at the season and participate in the Jazz funeral procession where they say goodbye to Summer. We enjoyed it so much that we decided that this is where we went to go every Labor Day from now on! I have traveled a lot and been to many different beaches but I would definitely recommend Bethany Beach to anyone who just wants to have a relaxing time at a beach that isn't over commercialized and where the local people are very friendly!

Lewes is full of places to shop and dine. several mini-golf courses and there is at least one real golf course. It is a very short drive to Rehoboth Beach and Cape Henlopen State Park which has an interesting WWII coastal defense museum and beach. It is less than an hour to Ocean City MD. and the extensive boardwalk. There are whale and dolphin cruises nearby which are well worth taking.

Well my stay was supposed to be from 10/23- 10/30 because my birthday was on the 25th when we got there on the 23rd, I advised our host that my son and I was there and we were in and we read the pamphlet on the refrigerator that said to read the welcome packet, but there was no welcome packet which wasn’t a problem, but then I was also told there was a deep cleaning done about day before yesterday. Everything metal in the condo just about was unusable the maintenance person that came over and cleaned the bathroom on the 24th was very nice and spent a lot of time scrubbing my bathroom, but unfortunately, I still didn’t feel comfortable. The dust was so thick I felt like I was breathing in dust which is not good for my allergies or asthma-so on the 25th which was my birthday my son and I decided to drive back home where we were more comfortable my husband and I usually spend time by the water on special occasions. This was my first birthday without him because I just lost him so I just wanted a different scenery. Enjoy a bike ride and some good seafood when I go away I expect to have a better experience than I would have at home or at least equivalent to, but this wasn’t either or respectfully, the bikes are so old we were scared to ride them because we thought we may have to get tetanus shots. I appreciate getting my cleaning fee back if I get it back, but I am really disappointed because it’s rare I get to take a vacation and I lost out on my money, but my comfort is worth more lesson learned and again respectfully

Seemed like a decent little town.

Seemed like a decent little town. We were just down there for work and needed a place to relax and sleep for the night. We didn't do the tourist thing. But driving through Long Neck and leaving we saw a lot of restaurants and gas stations and stores. For being such a small little town. We ordered from Domino' because thats what we were used to. Next time I would try some of the local pizza shops. We weren't there long to really judge or give an opinion on the town. Only thing I would avoid is the hotel we stayed in.

Selbyville is a perfect location for vacationers, as it sits at the DE/MD line. The property we rented for the week is just off Rt 54, which takes you right up to Rt 1 (Coastal Highway). Turn left on Rt 1 and you're immediately in Fenwick Island. Keep heading up Rt 1 and you can hit Bethany Beach, Dewey Beach, Rehoboth Beach, Lewes (take a ride on the Lewes Ferry, which takes you over to Cape May, NJ), etc. Turn right on Rt 1 and you’re less than ¼ mile from the Maryland State line, which will take you down to Ocean City & their famous boardwalk. Besides miles and miles of beaches, there are a ton of restaurants close by, as well water parks, lots of miniature golf locations, State Park beaches (along with public beaches), Tanger Outlets, etc. BTW, when you’re in Delaware, you can enjoy tax free shopping! Since you’re basically “in the middle” when in Selbyville, you’re close to everything that you’d like to do, whether that’s in Delaware or Maryland.

I like the fact that you are on the main roadway (Coastal Highway), close to beaches, free parking, plenty of restaurants, grocery stores and Outlets. Other than that, the hotel advertised that their suites and rooms have been renovated and that's definitely not true! There is a lot that needs to be done, especially the check-in area-must have been flooded and the carpet was damp/dirty and a fan was blowing, so there was a slight odor. The elevator,-was clean but old in appearance, worn out floor, walls and walkways on 2nd floor needs painting badly and the room I was changed from - on the 2nd floor - No One should be allowed to stay there unless, the entire room has been renovated: dirty carpet ripped out, in the middle of the floor, like someone had burned the carpet with an iron and trash behind bed, bathroom and entry doors -looked like someone beat on them and they needed painting or replaced, leaning lamp, holes in bedspread, no screen on balcony door and doors didn't seem secure. The bathtub needed to be replaced and the walls in the room were dirty. I was informed, at check-in-that all of the rooms were alike, in which , that wasn't true. I asked to be moved and I was placed in another room on the 2nd floor that was very clean, nice floor (no carpet) clean refrigerator and it definately didn't look anything like the other room at all. For now on, Before I take my luggage out of my vehicle, I plan on requesting to see the room at any hotel. Because, I was definitely disappointed in the Econo Lodge placing me or anyone in that type of disgrace. No one plans to go out of town and pay for a dirty place to lay their head. The cleaning lady was courteous. Plenty of parking meters when going to the beach and a lot of great views on the boardwalk and mini shops.
