We stayed here for four nights as part of a long weekend at the beach. By the end of our time here it felt like home and we were actively down about the thought of leaving. We stayed in 202 which is effectively a one bedroom apartment with kitchen and balcony. We made good use of the kitchen which was such a nice amenity for cooking breakfast and dinner. The building is extremely cozy and also has on-site parking. Our days comprised of resting and hitting the beach for which this is perfect. You're directly across the street from the beach. We're committed to coming back as soon as we can and staying here. We just loved it and will always remember our wonderful time here. Not enough good things can be said about the neighboring beach or how fun it is to walk or take a casual drive around in the evening.

It's my second visiting the hotel, the first time was on May 10th, 2024, when my husband surprised me with a beach trip, and we had an amazing experience at the Golden Sands oceanfront Hotel as we did the checkout, I made a new reservation for the whole family. My kids loved it ❤️

Carolina Beach, NC didn’t disappoint.

Carolina Beach, NC didn’t disappoint. There is plenty to do and see. Food, shopping, rides etc., the boardwalk is a fun and exciting place to hang out. Something for everyone. Make sure you get some Britt’s donuts before you leave, best donuts I’ve ever had in my life!

The beaches are wonderful early morning walks and sunning were amazing. On windy days it’s too difficult to bring a lunch and eat without getting sand on everything. Amazing clean water good swimming temperature in June 76°.

Sunrise walks on the beach are a MUST! Seafood at local restaurants was good. Michael’s is a place I’ve returned too. Cute local shops with lots of convenience. A short drive to tourist locations. Highly recommend the sunset river tour!

We cisit every year this is the only beach we go to. It's so clean and the people are so nice it's not like a party place and that's what I love about it. It's calm, fun and has the cutest shops.

My daughter and I have been fans of Carolina Beach for years...

My daughter and I have been fans of Carolina Beach for years. We have stayed in motels and camped at the State Park, enjoying both experiences. Until this year, we looked forward to visiting one of the bars/restaurants on the boardwalk for its amazing crab dip and steamed seafood (they have apparently changed hands and direction; we didn't find the changes appealing). We did have seafood at Salty's and thoroughly enjoyed it. The beach itself is great, and we feel comfortable going into the water when lifeguards deem it safe.

It is a beautiful beach, but can be very busy depending on the area you stay. If you don't stay on the island, public parking is expensive and at times difficult to find places to park especially around the pier area. My favorite places to eat on the island are Oceanic, Trolley Stop, and South Beach Restaurant. Off the island we love The Bridge Tender, Bento Box, Roko Italian Restaurant which is not far from Wrightsville Beach. Traffic at Wrightsville Beach and Wilmington is very busy.

We stayed in Kure Beach in the winter time so it was pretty much a ghost town, which is what we wanted. We had to drive a couple miles daily to Carolina Beach to eat and shop but it was a gorgeous drive. The Civil War history of Fort Fisher is a MUST for any American history buff. The Fort Fisher aquarium was a nice visit as well and worth the few bucks admission. Our favorite meal was in Carolina Beach at The Hang Ten Cafe, new parking in the rear of the place so don't pay to park. We hiked the basin trail, beautiful, but had to stop at the end of the salt water marsh bridge as the water flooded the trail, just needed water proof shoes to see the WW2 bunker and look out. As with any beach town, be ready to pay to park, everywhere.

No large crowds, beach clean, friendly atmosphere. Great places to eat and shop till you drop. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Easy access to all shops and beach accesses. Love to go on water tours, Breezeway Restaurant is a wonderful place to eat on the waterfront. Wonderful place to relax and to enjoy beach life.

We went to Kure beach every single day and it was amazing! Perfect for families. If you have little ones or not strong swimmers stay waist deep those rip currents WILL get you! The sand is PERFECT it’s powdery and soft. There is a shop nearby for every need! Perfect place to go on vacation!

Wrightsville is convenient to folks in the Triangle; it's only a 2 hour drive. This place gets SUPER crowded during the summer months though. Fall was a spectacular time to visit - the weather was perfect & the crowds have subsided. Do yourself a favor & walk beyond the Shell Island Resort. There are tide pools & miles of shoreline to explore. It's a beach walk not to be missed. Great local food options too. We love: Vito's pizza & the Fish House Grill.
