"Had Con Dao on my bucket list and was not disappointed. In fact it would be one of my favourite places to visit in Vietnam. It is a compact island with some of the best engineered roads you will find, serving tourists and a small local population around 10 000 people, making riding a hired scooter a safe and efficient way to travel. A large area is designated National Park, embracing both land and sea reserves. Large tract of bush and special reserves where you can see turtles and dudongs, in season. Despite its dark history the people are generally very relaxed and friendly. There are good options for casual dining and the night market specialises in fresh seafood. Visits to the museum, the colonial governors' residence and the French and American prisons are recommended. There are wonderful trails to hike ; be safe wear good footwear, take water and snacks and beware of optimistic distance signage ; it may be further than you think !"

It was beautiful. The room is relaxing, we love taking showers, property is clean. They change towels everyday and give you water daily. They allow dogs. Breakfast were great, pho and bun thit nuong. Bike rental available. Laundry service available.

I had a wonderful stay at V Boutique Hotel in the heart of Vũng Tàu. The hotel's modern design and clean rooms are impressive, and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, with excellent English skills. Despite its central location, the area is quiet and peaceful, surrounded by numerous restaurants and amenities. Vũng Tàu beach is also within walking distance. The value for money was excellent. It was a very nice hotel. Great breakfast and great food all round. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. This is my 9th hotel I have stayed in on my 4 trips to Vietnam. It was by far the best. They had a good gym, great pool and it was right on the beach. Perfect for a romantic time with your partner. It was also kid friendly with kids rooms and activities to do. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to spend time in Long Hai.

Vung Tau was nice but you have to know where to stay.

Vung Tau was nice but you have to know where to stay. I choose the hotel because it was close to beach but there were two beaches. The nice beach is at Phap Tam Thang where the nice shops and restaurants are. It was a school holiday time so there were concert and many food stands set up. it was like a national festivals, family with young children were all out celebrating and having fun. I real wonderful experience. Love it

Quiet and clean, roads are so good, felt comfortable as a pillion passenger on the bike. Seafood very expensive. Did not go to any of the museums or cultural places, maybe next time. Nexr visit will hire a bike for our entire stay. Views are amazing from every vantage point. Due to weather conditions, did not get out to the other islands.

We cannot comment on any attractions in the Ho Tram area, as we stayed in the Holiday Inn Resort solely to relax by the pool in the Resort for two full days, not leaving for any sight-seeing. However, we can advise that there will be a list provided in your room of nearby local attractions that can be visited - the list does state that some form of transport will be required to visit these attractions as none are close-by (within walking distance) - the concierge can be approached to arrange taxis or alternative transport if required.

It is an industrial port town not suitable for tourism.

It is an industrial port town not suitable for tourism. Levels of pollution are very high due to the main highway passing through the centre. The highway is also extremely dangerous with numerous accidents involving large trucks and motorbikes. On the the other hand a good selection of Vietnamese restaurants and coffee shops at reasonable prices. The local people appear to be very helpful.

Great resort overall despite the rundown state of the internal room fittings. Kitchen cabinets cannot be closed and stainless steel balustrade showing signs of rust across the resort. Pool and beach access is easy with good landscaping. Location is far from all amenities

It's a nice getaway from Saigon.

It's a nice getaway from Saigon. Beach is decent, not too clean and packed in the weekends. If you have business in Saigon or plan on flying out and don't wanna go too far away it is pretty ideal.

Con Dao was seriously one of my favourite places ive ever...

Con Dao was seriously one of my favourite places ive ever visited. Coming from Australia with really nice beaches i was still so amazed by the beauty of the island. Every side of the island had something unique and beautiful about it. You can rent an electric bike if you dont have the proper license which makes it super handy to get around. There is a good variety of food places. An Oi and Infiniti were great spots to eat as well as a couple of the Bahn Mi shops. You can hire some snorkel gear and go wherever to snorkel or you can ride around the island to see the lookouts. You can also go to the beach where the planes fly overhead really low (make sure youre on the right side) and id suggest riding a bike on the beach to get to it.

The Resort has its own herbs, veggies and fruit gardens which are spray-free catering for the on-site restaurants. Restaurants have great choices of Asian-Western food. Playgrounds and pools for kids are excellent. Rabbits, birds, chicken are around for kids to play with. Salt-water pool is awesome with looking over the ocean. Flower gardens and fish ponds are great and well maintained.

Vung Tau is an authentic Vietnamese tourist location---not yet overcrowded by international tourists---catering especially to the local residents from HCMC, so that it serves also as a weekend get-away. Unfortunately, most transportation arrangements require 3 hours for that 92 km trip despite the availability of toll roads....

Con Dao was a great way to end our 3 week travel around Vietnam. It was very relaxing. We got to set the baby turtles free. We used the travel agent inside the hotel. They were very knowledgable about the island and the conservation program.
