Our room was beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean (much like the rest of the hotel). The bedding and toiletries provided were of a high standard, and there was a general feeling of luxury. Fridge provided, along with kettle/tea and coffee. We very much appreciated the early check-in and the complimentary glass of wine. Wifi was strong and there was secure parking onsite. Added bonus of two beautiful in-house dogs! The owners were helpful and personable, and Amanda was kind enough to drive us to and from the train station in the hotel's own black cab. All the staff we encountered were friendly and engaging. The pool area was immaculate and set amongst very pretty plants. Comfy day beds, very clean pool, towels provided etc. We had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant, and both were good. Prices for food and drinks very reasonable. Would not hesitate to return if we're in the area again.

This stay is among the most memorable and enjoyable we've ever had. The hostess was welcoming and resourceful, particularly during the storm and flood on the 25th of September. When all around us was chaos and closure, she graciously allowed us to stay with her, providing a safe harbor. The owner also personally prepares breakfast for her guests, serving a delicious array of options including yogurt, orange juice, fresh fruits, and a choice of warm breakfast dishes. Her personal touch, combined with the estate's harmonious blend of traditional charm and modern amenities, such as the pool, created an ambiance of homely hospitality, making our stay utterly delightful and remarkable. The estate itself, rich in quaint, traditional elegance, yet modernly equipped, felt like a warm, welcoming home, ensuring a splendid stay for us.

I loved the peaceful feel of being at a farm - a grove of pecan trees to wander in, led by a friendly cat, and a little lemon tree just outside my room. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. At the restaurant, I got the best pecan tart I ever ate. Pomegranate juice for breakfast!

We had such a wonderful stay here. The property is truly beautiful, with charming little walkways and peaceful corners everywhere you look. There is a lovely natural pool as well as another swimming pool, both incredibly tranquil and perfectly maintained. Everything feels very well looked after and cared for. The apartment itself was excellent, with a fully fitted kitchen and a braai on a stunning balcony overlooking Montagu and the surrounding mountains. Sitting there in the evening with the views was definitely a highlight. The host was exceptionally kind and welcoming, making the whole experience feel relaxed from the moment we arrived. Parking was easy and convenient, and the location right next to Montagu Springs is great, although honestly we never even went there because the property itself was so beautiful and peaceful that we didn’t feel the need to leave. A truly special and relaxing place. We will definitely be back.

The attention to detail was well thought of. Complimentary rusks were the best we have ever had. The farm fresh eggs were tasty and the Muscadel was a sweet treat for the end of the night. Henk was a superb host and made sure we got day passes at Gauna Caves which the kids enjoyed. The unit is so beautiful and had everything one would ever need. Although we were close to town it felt isolated enough to unwind and recharge. The best part of the stay was having full assess the farm grown veg and fruit. We will definitely be back again.

Our Hosts Tara and Dave were fantastic from the start to the end of our stay in their beautiful mountainous country retreat. It's such a lovely place to relax, have a BBQ (Braai) or take hikes into the mountain. Dave kindly took us on a lovely walk through the mountains to a hotel spa nearby. I wish we had more time to stay and explore\relax. I will definitely be coming back again, The Chalet had everything we needed for self catering and was very clean.

I have always loved the town of Montagu, it's quaint and has interesting spots to eat at and enjoy and one always feels welcome by the people that work and live there. We love the hot springs there too. Life does shut down pretty much after dark and Sunday afternoons but not necessarily a bad thing when you're there for a 'break'.

Glen Eden Farm exceeded our expectations 100%

Glen Eden Farm exceeded our expectations 100% From the friendly faces upon arrival to the well maintained facilities, our stay was exceptional. The setup of the farm is great, and the bar and restaurant area is lovely! The only thing we wish we could have more of, is to be able to take our doggy to the bar/ restaurant area to sit and enjoy those facilities more, and we also wish we could have used the dam to Stand up padel with our own board. Other than that, Glen Eden will see us again, and we already planning on taken more family there in the future.

We stayed in the log cabins: functional and clean, well appointed but rustic. Four hour drive from Cape Town. Quiet and peaceful. Spectacular night skies, awesome vistas. Ideal if you want to sit and relax in a karoo landscape, but remember your paint-box and novel, and a fan (in summer): they've got games to borrow, and ice, cool drinks and fatty lamb chops to buy. Sweet...

This was the worse experience my family and I ever had at any Holiday resort, the safety of my family was put in harms way when a man broke into our unit at Montagu springs Golden terrace in the early hours of the morning. I had my wife and two young children sleeping whilst a stranger broke into our place with sinister intentions, luckily we woke up just in time before anything could worse could happen.

The 4x2 trail was perfect to test out my repaired Pajero's rear diff. The accommodation was comfortable and perfect for families to entertain each other with board games. The balcony provides a perfect setting to sit outside on camp chairs while dad is tending to the braai.
