United KingdomFamily run safari camp with hands on owners who love conservation and take great pride in the excellence of their guides. The guides were very knowledgeable and a special shout out to Abram who is wise beyond his years. We saw great wildlife up close and personal whilst still feeling totally safe. We did both a driven safari and a walking guided safari - both were excellent and memorable. The lodge was very special and Mare, a hand reared antelope, hangs out near the lodge, which is delightful.

We really enjoyed our stay at Suidersee in Hartenbos. The host, Zandri, was exceptionally warm and welcoming, making the experience feel personal and comfortable. She went out of her way to ensure everything ran smoothly and that we felt at home.
The facilities were excellent – clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully arranged, providing a relaxing and enjoyable environment. The location is ideal, with easy access to the beach and local attractions, making it perfect for both relaxation and exploring the area. Overall, a highly recommended stay!

We loved the location of Bay Lodge Guesthouse, with its amazing sea view. The breakfast was delicious, the staff were very welcoming, and we felt completely relaxed throughout our stay. We would love to return for a longer visit next time to enjoy everything they have to offer.

We had not been to Mossel Bay in about 20 years and it has...
We had not been to Mossel Bay in about 20 years and it has grown so much. It is no longer just about the Point and Diaz areas. Hartenbos - is a strong draw card too.
Old, new, beaches, harbour, and easy access to George and the airport. Big malls, unfortunately limited small quaint shops from what we could tell but it certainly seems Mossel Bay is growing.

The region offers very diverse landscapes : see beech, mountains, wetlands. For us, nature lover it was a paradise.

I was pleasantly surprise by Seeplaas as well GrootBrak River. I did not e ven know their was a little town. Clean, lots of places to eat. Seeplaas fantastic, we sat on the stoep the whole afternoon just looking at the view.

Main purpose of our visit was game watching.
Main purpose of our visit was game watching. And this turned out to be excellent. Being very lucky to spot all kinds of animals we had the privilage to be accompanied by an outstanding guide - „King David“. Knowledgeable, experienced, helpful and very friendly. Thanks a lot, David!
Suggestion for improvement: We missed dustbins and better cleaning service in our room…

Love the tranquility of the area.
Love the tranquility of the area. The beaches are pretty and clean. Dolphins appear often while walking the beaches in the morning. Scenery is amazing with the mountain view one side and the beach the other side.

Great place to visit, weather most of the time excellent. Accommodation was great , should have stayed another two days. So many things we wanted to do but there was not enough time. Could not even manage to do my favourite activity Hiking, but next time.

It’s been one of the best places to break away since my grandparents went on holidays. Hartenbos has kept up with the times and can proudly boast with its holiday atmosphere. If you havent been, make sure to go as soon as you are able.

Seeplaas was excellent. Will definitely go again. The room was clean and well laid out. The view and sound of the ocean is heavenly. Enjoyed breakfast every morning, also looking at the sea the whole time. Saw whales and dolphins playing right in front of seeplaas.

Our two night stay was better than we expected.
Our two night stay was better than we expected. The games drives were excellent because we had to find the animals (they were not in pre-arranged locations). Our guide (Ruan) was brilliant and did whatever was needed to ensure we saw everything. Accommodation was comfortable. Would recommend stay at the lodge. Staying in one of the villas means a 15-20 drive to the lodge for the game drives (2 each day) and breakfast, lunch and dinner.

But lots to do if you enjoy golf, padel, walking,& shopping.
Some good restaurants and the Casino. Very easy to find all the local places.
