First off, the room itself was fabulous with a large bed and also a sofa as well as the mini-kitchen facilities, and a nice deck with chairs for sitting outside although for much of our visit we had rain. Also the path to the pool and spa were easily accessible. The spa facilities themselves were fabulous, with a large heated pool, a nice hot sauna and a Turkish bath that was amazing. I also treated myself to a Jacuzzi and a nice massage both of which were perfect for me. Breakfast is in the main restaurant. We took the opportunity to explore the area walking and scootering about. The nearby town is quaint with some lovely restaurants and really interesting features like the old Roman bridge that is still in use to this day. We also had dinner one night in the restaurant and it was delicious.

Oh my goodness, I thought I dropped into a moorish castle complete with water works an beautiful modern pool. The staff was congenial and proud of this unique property. Another great rest stop on the Camino.

Next to the Minho River, this former monastery and mansion now offers boutique accommodations. Hotel Convento dos Capuchos includes a spa, pool and a tennis court.
