This was in a great location right between Okayama city and Kurashiki. We were pleasantly surprised by the huge garden we were greeted by, and continued to be pleased by the warm welcome from our host. The Igusa Guest House is an older, traditional structure, giving it lots of character and a few quirks, making this experience very authentic. We stayed in one of the larger rooms, which had a charming raised tatami platform for our futons, lots of windows to let in natural light and allow a view of the garden, and a wonderful attached patio. The majority of the facilities you would need were available (we paid an additional, tiny fee to rent towels) and very clean. The only thing it did not have were laundry facilities, but there are two different coin laundries within walking distance to use instead. The guest house is about a five-minute walk from the train station, and about a fifteen-minute walk to two different konbinis. There is also a wonderfully, peaceful park, with multiple shrines nearby, that is about a fifteen-minute walk from the guest house as well; the walk is pretty uphill, with stairs to the park and the shrines, but you can get a gorgeous view of the surrounding area and landscape from the park. If we ever make it back to Japan, we would definitely stay here again. 

Originally built in 1889 as a red-brick cotton mill, this historical hotel is just 984 feet from the Bikan Historical Quarter. It features 2 restaurants, a bar and gift shop.

The hotel was a 10-minute walk from the station. It is located just one street across the historical area which was extremely convenient. the breakfast was exceptional. Amazing variety and very tasty. The onsen was a big bonus. It was opened 24/7. We arrived 30 minutes early and thought we would be able to check in, however, we couldn't. We left our luggage and went to explore. Later when we checked in, the staff had already taken our luggage to our room.

Guest house Life Field offers apartments just a 5-minute walk away from Kurashiki Station. Okayama Station is a 15-minute train ride, or 30-minute drive away from this guest house.

It is very comfortable. The carpet next to the bed is soft, and the bed has nice mattress. There is a bed lamp too. The is also an air purifier, which we appreciated. The living area has adequate amenities, including hairdryer, tooth brushes, mugs… It is located next to the Outlet mall, through which you can walk to the station and the sightseeing area easily.

Located a few steps from Shinkeien Garden, Kurashiki Kokusai Hotel offers 4-star accommodations in Kurashiki and has a garden, a restaurant and a bar.

Ideal location, old style hotel with atmosphere, nice corner room in annex with very comfortable beds and everything one needs for a good stay. A fridge, little essentials, good lighting. The welcome was also very courteous. Plentiful buffet style breakfast was included.
