Rooms in Altamura

The hotel was in a great location for visiting Matera also close to the city of Altamura. The room was comfortable, the bed comfortable and the breakfast very good. The staff were very helpful.

This is the best stay we had in years. A very good welcome, our host Andrea gave us a an excellent overview of the city, places to visit, history behind many of them, other cities to visit as well - all proved very useful and interesting. The apartment itself is very clean, located in an old palazzo, yet has all of the facilities needed. Two bedrooms, comfy beds. Breakfast is served by host's family, very tasty and authentic. Excellent experience to stay overall, would recommend to anyone who wants to experience Italy or appreciates excellent service.

It has been a nice place in the middle of the countryside, a large area actually divided into two buildings. One building was a restaurant and grocery store where you could buy some probably homemade jams, salami, cheeses, etc. A little further away was the other building where there was a B&B and factory that you could perhaps go in and look around, but I didn't. The room was nice, reasonable, comfortable beds, large bathroom and an outside walkway so it was nice to be able to go out and not feel trapped with only windows. Wifi worked well. The staff was very nice and helpful. The downside was that it was relatively cold inside, probably central A/C and it couldn't be regulated in the room. But there were warm blankets so I didn't freeze at night anyway. The other downside was that although there was a dining room in this building, breakfast was still served in the first building and it was a bit of a walk. I had to take the car as I am after leg surgery and have a bit of difficulty walking. So the place is not very suitable for a person with reduced mobility. The breakfast was good and there was also salami and cheeses, not just pastries. There was also a restaurant so you could have dinner or lunch and refreshments so that was nice. As I said it was a nice place, a real agricultural place and a lot to do around as there was a forest too with different activities so it might be nice to stay there for a couple of days and explore a bit.

Great location in a peaceful part of the center, close to shopping, restaurants and Forno Santa Caterina. Breakfast was provided by a miraculous little pasticcieria around the corner.

Location is great, easy to access and close to the historic centre. Very friendly and helpful staff. Beds are extremely comfortable!!, new and clean, nice linens that even smell good, and absolutely loved the tub in the room. Wasn’t able to use the spa, but hopefully next time.

This was our second stay at Hotel Nicola. Our first stay, several years ago, was wonderful - hence our return. This trip, we noted ongoing improvements in the property. The staff was exceedingly welcoming and helpful, and we enjoyed our interaction with them. One staff member consistently went out of his way to help with our car and explain how our access to the ZTL worked. Erik, at the front desk, was a font of helpful knowledge about the area and gave us suggestions regarding navigation and areas to explore. The breakfast was varied and exceeded what would be regarded as "typical," both in quality and quantity. And, of course, Altamura is beautiful and the Centro is exceedingly walkable.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any requests . The location is perfect, close to local attractions and public transport. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area, and I would definitely stay here again!

Maria and Angela and Susha were wonderful! They made us feel comfortable and welcome. Even though we arrived very late, Maria was on hand to greet us and made check in easy. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome. The food made by Angela was all fresh homemade and exceeded our expectations. She took time to tell us about each item and shared how it was made. Both she and Maria spent time talking to us and telling us about themselves and DonnaPaola. Maria is an artist and while you are there, be sure to look for her sculptures. The rooms also have her work as part of the decorations. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The views are stunning. It is peaceful and quiet. We will be sure to come back and stay longer.

It was a clean room with a coffee machine and complimentary water. Communication with host was very good, she was super responsive.

Quiet location perfect after a long drive. Altamura is a great central location to access other cities like Alberobello, Monopoli and Matera.
