My family had the best time in Forest Nest with Saman and his wife and child. His wife cooked the best meals for us; Saman leads two tours in the SINHARAJA forest . One is a night walk that is 3-4 hours long ! The other is a day tour that is 5-6 hours long . He helped my son tremendously and didn’t charge my son at all. His family is genuinely helpful and kind. Nothing is too much trouble and they are always there when we need them . Saman is also a bird guide who took my husband on two walks to spot birds. The cabin is well-appointed and has the best view in the area ! The shower is hot and there is a fan . We stayed two nights and this is certainly NOT enough .

These kinds of homestays are the best out there: reasonable price, authentic food, real people who actually do their best to make you feel welcome. It was a great stay. I looked forward every night to sitting on that deck and hearing the nature, and being part of the village while reading my book and enjoying the view. Tons of places to plug in things, and I didn’t need to use the AC once. The hot water lasted a good amount of time, the facilities were clean, and it was such a cool place to go to. I am sure I would do it again. Those louder hotels, or where there are lots of guests, are okay and have their moments, but here I felt privileged to just have my own little room in the middle of nature. It even poured rain for a good 40 minutes and the room was bone dry. Husband Kasun and wife Thamili (I hope I spelled names correctly) have two sweet kids and are quintessential Sri Lankan -full of warmth and heart - and I totally wish these guys all the best. I think most people out there who want a place in nature and have their own little place for a few days or more will be satisfied. It certainly was worth it, and I paid much less than a high-class hotel - better than a lot of hotels I need to travel to in Canada.

The room was clean and spacious and had a beautiful balcony overlooking the river. Great spot for bird watching. The host family was great! Excellent and knowledgeable rainforest guide, and his parents who ran the kitchen cooked amazing meals. The food was outstanding!

Amazing spot near the river and walking distance from entrance of Sinharaja Rainforest. Vini and his family are extremely friendly and helpfull. He went out of his way to help us when needed. Wonderful location in the midst of the rainforest. Food was fresh and tasty. The lovely host Karina is very accommodating and can organise anything for you from transportation to tours. The river freshwater pool is very refreshing after a hike or trek in the forest.

The owner is a guide of Sinharaja forest. I join a tour with him and he is so professional and knowledgeable! The tour was amazing. We walked in the forest and heard birds singing. Also captured lots of photos of endemic species, showered under waterfall, enjoyed fish therapy and bathed in pool. And then after tour, he prepared delicious dinner for us. Highly recommend everyone who wanna visit Sinharaja forest stay here.

This was an amazing stay with our family (2adults, 3 kids of 6, 8 and 11) in our room in the middle of the jungle, with a view on the waterfall where you could also swim in. A 10/10. Janith, Maneesha and team were such friendly and helpfull hosts. The true Srilanka food and drinks was prepared with much care and was delicious. (And for our Dutch stomachs safe to eat :) ) And the rainforest hike was super, with Janith being such a good guide, spotting snakes, lizards, monkeys, spiders etc. 100% recommended!

We loved the location and the fact that we could see the river gushing right outside our rooms. The fact that we were located right in the centre of this beautiful rainforest. The family that runs the space is extremely warm, kind, friendly and made us feel like family. Great organization. Very prompt.

Everything!!! It is such an amazing place. You feel one with nature. I could watch the monkeys out of my bedroom. There is a waterfall just a few steps away. And the owners Janith and Manisha are such a lovely people. They will go out of their reach to make you have the best holiday ever. And the food was the best food I had so far in Sri lanka. Just delicious. I made a jungle tour with them and the guy know so much about nature and the environment. I really recommend this place if you love the nature!!!
