Rooms in Dodanduwa

Nimal's homestay in village of Dodanduwa. A great getaway for us & a chance to enjoy village life by staying with a local family. Nimal & Chani are great hosts, friendly & involving, but also give you plenty of space. We enjoyed various trips around the area with Nimal (whale watching, snake farm, there's plenty to see) & also enjoyed exploring on our own (you can go canoeing around the nearby lagoon, or catch waves at a nearby beach that had decent surf). The food, cooked by Chani & Nimal, was fantastic & plentiful, many different spices & curries, and a lot of local seafood. The rooms are clean, cool, safe, and the outdoor balcony great for playing cards, people-watching, eating, drinking beer etc Also great for watching local birdlife. Galle is not far away, and is a fun place to visit for shopping (Manjari - one stop shop!). There's also a talented tailor in the village who made some clothes for us.

Friendly and helpful staff, beautilfully located on the river bank, close enough to the beach and restaurants yet quiet and peaceful.

The space is just magical. You'll feel like you're in a private luxury jungle with an incredible view and pool. You can stay here for days indulging in complete relaxation and pleasure. The hosts are super attentive and don't forget to ask for an Sri Lankan breakfast, they are excellent cooks.

Right on the beach, with a great pool. Quiet but a short walk to all the facilities in Hikkaduwa.

Very clean and comfortable place. The location is perfect, very close to the beach. We enjoyed the beautiful sunset view from the property. The host was very helpful and supportive. The price is very reasonable for what you get.

Hosts were super kind and always offered meals and help. Spacious apartment with your own balcony. Direct beach access through the families garden. Good value for money.

Excellent villa in every way! If you’re looking for cleanliness, this is one of the cleanest villas I’ve ever stayed in. They also serve a delicious breakfast. The owner is a very kind, respectful, and classy man .

The owners are helpful and friendly and the place is clean. There are not many places for food around the area but it's good for stopping for night.

The location is simply superb. Nestled in the charming area of Dodanduwa, it feels like a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature, yet it's only a short walk (about 100 meters) from the beautiful Dodanduwa Beach.

beautiful room, quiet, on the edge of the lagoon, for me one of the best places of my stay in Sri Lanka
