The family behind La Familia could not be more kind and welcoming. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in San Blas. The room was spacious and immaculate, the courtyard was lovely, the morning coffee was most welcome. Breakfast is only served on weekends, but an excellent breakfast can be had at Las Tradiciones 3 or so blocks away. It's about a 20 minute walk to the beach (no hotels on Playa Borrego) or a 50 peso cab ride. There is a taxi stand on the street just down from the hotel. A word of advice: take the warnings about the famous San Blas jejenes/sandflies seriously and wear your repellent outdoors, especially early morning and around sunset.

It is a beautifully renovated building. All of the rooms have a personal touch. The beds are comfortable. The bathroom has good water pressure. The AC is excellent. The host goes above and beyond to help you with anything.

Everything. It’s new and the staff were all very attentive and helpful. We had a sea view which was fabulous. Our room was clean, the shower had plenty of hot water, the kitchen was great and we could make tea. The pool was lovely with its infinity view to the sea and we enjoyed a swim after being in the sea. We had plenty of charging sockets. The sunset while we ate our evening meal was magical.

Pleasant and helpful hosts. Beautiful room. Right in the midst of the town. It was Saturday night and music and parties, but the noise was diminished (and kinda pleasant) by the courtyard.

The hotel has a beautiful location on the beach and has done a really great job with the outdoor spaces - loungers on the beach, easy access to the beach, loungers & umbrellas by the pool, and you can enjoy a beautiful view from the pool/pool deck. The bed was comfortable (but the pillows were not). The room is spacious. We had a downstairs room (which I recommend) and they all have big outdoor spaces with a table and chairs and plenty of space for drying stuff out.
