Just a min walk from station. We got a free upgrade to high floor with a panoramic view of the city. Spacious room with floor-to-ceiling window. Special remark to the automatic curtain which avoid the direct sunlight exposure when we wake up around noon. Exceptional and attentive services. What a lucky find this place was... perfect for a solo or couple travelling. Location is right in the city center: close to many restaurants, shopping, bars and groceries. Tourist sights within walking distance. Apartment is on the 6th floor, elevator access. Little touches (spices, extra towels, comfy bed pillows) made our stay feel more like home! Washer & dryer...a blessing. Fully equipped kitchen to cook (could use cutting board, pizza cutter and better knives). Balcony to enjoy in evenings when not raining.

Casa Esperanza is located a 5-minute tram ride from the center of Basel and offers free WiFi and a shared terrace with seating area. The rooms all come with a flat-screen TV.

Overall, a great experience. I was met by Kai, who took me to my room, and explained everything, including with a lever-arch file of notes. He checked that I had everything I needed, and then left. I didn't need to contact him, but I had all his contact details in case I did. It's a large enough room with beds, a table and a well-enough equipped kitchen, and a fan in case it gets a bit hot. There is enough hanging space in the cupboard. The bathroom is shared with another room (I knew that at the time of booking), and that might not suit everybody, but it was perfectly fine with me. The location is great: about 2-3 blocks from a tram intersection for the Number 1 tram that goes to the main station and to the Messe Convention centre. Other trams are also there, but I did not use them. There are also two largish grocery stores in the vicinity of the tram station.
