- everything very clean - Comfortable bed - Kitchen fully equipped - Very local neighbourhood with plenty of food options, but 10 minute walk to the tourist (trap) Santander Street and 5 minute walk to the market/supermarkets. - Very friendly, warm and accommodating family. - Actually hot shower! And even a shower mat! - Place to hand wash and hang laundry in the back. - there’s one super friendly dog and one somewhat grumpy dog on the property, as well as a friendly cat (all stay outside of the house). - We could have easily stayed here long term. - Note that the location on Google Maps (Search for Casa Mary) is now correct. The location currently provided on booking.com is where you turn North into the neighbourhood towards Mary’s home. There’s no sign on the front door but there is a picture of it in the listing.

It was so great coming here, the host brought me in like family and so great full for my stay. It’s a mansion that was never completed which a local now owns. It felt great supporting g a local while also having a comfortable stay for a change. Definitely more luxury then im used to, but dont expect perfection. All in all highly rated for the value

The very friendly staff. The perfect WiFi (best in Guatemala so far), the private kitchen (we had the superior apartment which means the one on the second floor), the terrace where we enjoyed our breakfast and dinner, the strong and warm shower (hot water on the right), the silence at night, staying in a real local neighbourhood away from “gringotenango” in the noisy centre, close to the local market and a large supermarket, good connections with tuk-tuk (but only 15 minutes walk to the centre of town). We”ll book again!

The grounds are beautiful, the views amazing. We went during rainy season and we found the place to be green and lush. The use of free kayaks was so enjoyable. The staff was friendly. We were happy we chose to stay there when visiting Pana.
