I had a very comfortable stay at Suwani Pinnawala Homestay…. the room was clean, spacious, and well-furnished, with a spotless bathroom…. the hosts were exceptionally kind, especially the lady of the house, who went out of her way to prepare special vegetarian meals for me…. breakfast was excellent, and the homestay is conveniently close to the elephant bathing grounds. Highly recommended!

Booked Tea Heritage for our anniversary and honestly… my wife was stoked! As soon as we walked in, we knew we’d hit the jackpot. The suite was massive , proper roomy , with floor-to-ceiling glass that gave us unreal views of the mountains. Felt like waking up in a dream. The whole place has this fresh, modern vibe, but it’s tucked in the middle of nature, so you’re completely surrounded by lush green beauty. Every night, we even spotted fireflies dancing outside ,haven’t seen those since we were kids! Gave us full-on goosebumps. Then came the cherry on top – a candlelit dinner under the stars just for us. No other guests, just the two of us and the sky above. Pure romance. Felt like we were on the set of a movie. And the food? Next level. Most of it came straight from their own garden – how good’s that? Dinu, the chef and co-host, whipped up some mouthwatering homemade Sri Lankan dishes that we’re still dreaming about. Everything tasted like it was made with love – and a bit of firewood magic. Don’t even get me started on the pool – absolutely huge, with views to die for. The best bit? They only host one couple at a time, so we had the whole place to ourselves. Talk about VIP treatment! If you’re chasing something quiet, romantic, and a bit fancy without being stuffy, this is it. Tea Heritage isn’t just a stay – it’s a memory-maker. 10/10 from us.

I was so lucky to spend three weeks with Nishad and his family in their wonderful homestay. Everything was exactly the authentic Sri Lankan experience that I was hoping for. I was cared for with the love and kindness one cares for their own family. Nimmo's cooking was just fantastic and I highly recommend going for the dinner option as it is very delicious and reasonably priced. There is a laundry service as well for a small fee and Nishad can take you to various places at the same price that you would take an Uber. There is warm water in the shower, which is not always given in Sri Lanka. He is very passionate about ayurvedic medicine and they are growing a variety of plants on the property. He'll be more than happy to talk to you about it and have you try them if you want. The area is absolutely amazing with endless rice paddies and jungle vibes. The wildlife and bird life is another highlight with many species of bee eaters and kingfishers flying around the area. You are guaranteed sightings. If you are lucky, like I was, you may even be visited by a giant squirrel. Otherwise you'll have to settle in the family of normal sized squirrels running around in the trees in front of the balcony. Last but not least, there are sooo many temples that you can reach either on foot or a short tuk tuk ride. Places with amazing views and centuries of history. It's an amazing place and it'll always have a special place iny heart. What it lacks in luxury, it makes up in authenticity.

I had a great stay here and really enjoyed the experience. The place was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with anything we needed.
