Perfect location in the centre of Antequera. A beautiful, well maintained old Andalusian house. Lovely views from the exterior balcony. The staff could not have been more kind and helpful, made me feel very welcome. A great base for exploring Antequera and all it has to offer.

Where do I even begin with Hostal Aljibe? The most exquisite, perfect boutique hotel, I think I've stayed in. Once through the front doors, the place begins to work its magic. Renovated and restored to the highest of standards, it is an absolute feast for the eyes and the senses. Natural tones and fabrics and palettes throughout, with the most amazing hand crafted chandeliers and light fittings made by the owner. The attention to detail throughout is spectacular. The breakfast area is absolutely gorgeous and on the two mornings we were there, were fed so, so well. Do try the omelettes made by Frank. You'll not have had them this delicious before. The breakfast room opens out on the most gorgeous courtyard, with an impressive olive tree in the centre, and then up to the pool area. It is wonderful. Just wonderful. We originally booked a small room but decided to upgrade to a suite - Frank showed us the small room, just off the courtyard, first and it was super cute, However, the suite was stunning so we took that. It was large, with a seating area, a big bedroom and a shower room. (Just be aware that the shower/toilet area doesn't have a door, but still affords privacy as it's tucked away). Frank & Sabrina, the owners, are utterly lovely. Nothing is too much trouble. Communication before we arrived was excellent. We were asked what we would like for breakfast so that it could be tailored for us. The owners exude what they have created - peacefulness, tranquility and calm. They have renovated their townhouse with love and it oozes out of every surface. Two nights was nowhere near long enough in this haven, but I am so glad that we visited Archidona and found this gem, as we will definitely be returning. Perfection.
