The location was amazing. You are right next to several waterfalls and can see an amazing view from every window. The seal woman statue is just down the steps from the house. The house is warm and inviting.

It's a quiet place where you actually can't wait to come back after a full day of visiting and adventures. And I think this is telling you all. The dramatic black beach is the other place that calls to you. It's 2 minutes far from home and the feeling is that you have your own beach in the morning and in the evening. It's a fairy tale where I hope I will come back again. An absolutely special and authentic place. The house is a gem that takes you back to a calmer world. Such wonderful hosts. We liked everything. Although it isnt new but it is a charming cute cottage with all the stuff you need. Super close to the beach and other hiking trails.

Loved being right on the water. Very spacious, clean and peaceful. Beds are comfortable. Not a lot of restaurants and such right in Hvalvík, but there is a gas station, Bonus supermarket and a few restaurants across the bridge. We highly recommend Rose's Restaurant. Make a reservation! Vert provides a nice thorough link to an app that has all your stay/check-in instructions in it. Very helpful. There is a detailed list of things to do upon checkout. If you don't do some, there are fines attached. But they are pretty much common sense and nothing over the top.
