The Jungle is a great escape from the more popular destination for travelers like Balgue. It is quiet, located on Merida island and the views are incredible! Nothing beats waking up to views of the lake and hearings birds chirping! The staff is very nice and easy to communicate. If you're looking for a more off-the-beaten path location, this is the place. Only 20 minutes to Balgue, but about 1 hour from the port in San Jose del Sur. There is an on site restaurant and the property is located about 10 minutes from the iconic San Ramon waterfall. Overall I really enjoyed my room, the spacious room and of course - the views!

I had a wonderful stay. The rooms are clean and modern. The garden is beautiful and very tranquil. And the hostess are really sweet good people. It would be good for a family stay. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great view of the mountain! Room itself was as pictured. Nice staff. Grounds are well maintained. They clean your room daily which was nice. (Small suggestion though-offer guests the sign for “do not disturb” in case they don’t want this some days) Decent value compared to other spots.

Beautiful location. Walking distance to main road with some nice restaurants within 30 mins. Information booklet in the room was helpful. Help to rent mopeds, organise transport, guides etc. The room was spacious, bed was really comfortable, hardly any creepy crawlies (this is a complaint from many of the eco lodges). Good wifi. 2 fans which was nice. Good shower pressure and temperature.

Everyone at the hotel was super nice and helpful to us, specially Carlos which we had the chance to share some time with him. The room was nice, the AC was working smoothly and almost noiseless, the shower had hot and cold water with a good amount of water and the hotel itself was feeling really peaceful, with a nice garden area with some chickens around. To us, after some days in cabins and eco houses, having nice walls and some crystal windows was what we were looking for. The lake is just at one side and you can see it while having breakfast, which by the way is pretty good. The place is close to some interest points of the island. I can only recommend the place.
