United StatesHumble homestay ran by Bulan and her beautiful family. AC worked great and the room was simple but comfortable. WiFi goes in and out but wasn't really a problem for me. Water and dinner are available upon request highly recommend eating here the food was delicious and the portions were very generous. The village is small but so beautiful filled with smiles and kindness its truly a hidden gem. They also offer transport to the airport at a very fair price. Highly recommend 1000/10!

Lombok International Airport is located in the south of Lombok Island, 22 miles (36 kilometres) from Mataram. A taxi between the airport and the city will cost about IDR 143,000 and take about 30 minutes. DAMRI buses run to and from Mataram from 07:00 until 22:00 each day.

As we didn’t stay at this villa after all, I can’t tell about how good the breakfast and the cleaning service were. But when we arrived at the villa the rooms looked clean and tidy.
But the host Heru was very helpful, friendly and full of understanding why we after all didn’t take the villa as our accommodation for our 4 days stay in Lombok. He helped us to find another accommodation and brought us with his driver to our new accommodation.

Interesting place, unbelievable amount of restaurants. Lots of young tourists, the town is a buzz with 2 large venues in particular crowded with 20 - 40 year olds. Some young couples with pre school kids, very few older people. Probably as getting around the need to be able to ride a motorbike. We got a driver to take us to the waterfalls and a working weaving village. We had a guide at the waterfall, which we enjoyed.

Selong Belanak Beach is quite diverse.
Selong Belanak Beach is quite diverse. It is not really the place for golden sand and crystal-clear turquoise water. Instead, it’s a great spot for surfing and enjoying the waves. The tides are quite strong, and there are also very cool crabs living in the sand.
The water can sometimes be a bit murky and occasionally there is some trash, especially during the rainy season. The sea brings plastic and natural debris to the shore, and it is not always cleaned up very quickly. However, it was not extremely disturbing.
Along the beach there are local surf kiosks run by locals, where you can find local food and services. They serve very good local corn and banana pancakes. The area can feel a bit slum-like, but at the same time it is their natural living environment.
On both sides of the beach there are also larger hotels with a more Western style, offering very good food for visitors looking for a slightly more upscale experience.

Perfect for overnight stay to Lombok airport.
Perfect for overnight stay to Lombok airport. Nice breakfast (2 pancakes). 50K transfer to airport is really well priced. Options for dinner also all extremely reasonably priced at 25kg or each meal and it was a lovely feed too.

The traffic in Kuta is very heavy.
The traffic in Kuta is very heavy. It smells of sewerage in quite a few places. It does have some good cafes and supermarkets. If you are looking for a cleaner place go to Tanjung Ann Beach or Selong Belanak Beach. Less crowded, less polution, more space, more serene.

Great beach with many local warungs, and a hotel restaurant on the beach. A few nice restaurants catering to western and local tastes in the village. It was a lovely spot for us and we would be happy to spend more time there. A peaceful and laidback village with friendly locals.
If we return, we would hire a car to get around more easily. Metered taxis and share ride services such as Grab are not available in the Selong Belanak area. If you want to go to the supermarket in Kuta, restaurants or locations further afield than it is by private driver.

Kuta, Lombok exceeded all of our expectations.
Kuta, Lombok exceeded all of our expectations. It has a relaxed atmosphere, beautiful beaches, and some of the friendliest people we have ever met. Everyone was welcoming, genuinely kind, and always happy to help.
There are plenty of great restaurants offering delicious local and international food, and the town has a perfect balance of vibrant cafés, beach bars, and peaceful spots to relax.
A special mention goes to Abdul and his WOW Crepes stand on the main street. Not only are the crepes absolutely delicious, but Abdul's friendliness and positive energy made every visit a pleasure. If you're in Kuta, don't miss it!
We had an unforgettable time and would gladly return. Kuta is the kind of place that makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive.

Selong belanak is a charming location with friendly locals and great food!
Main beach Munah is buzzing with people holidaying and learning to surf
With Warungs along the beach you can grab a board or a cold Bintang and enjoy the water
Homestays are the way to go but there are also
Also beachfront restaurants and resort style places.
Beautiful surrounding areas and still quite enough to enjoy local farming
I hope it stays this way and foreign resorts do not take over.
