NorwaySome of the reviews made me nervous, but our stay was 5-star. Everything was clean and comfortable, Abner at check-in was very friendly and professional, we enjoyed the pool and the breakfast. Very attentive shuttle service to and from. Also to the Old Port. Very clean, comfortable and pleasant. Terrific breakfast available at reasonable price. Will definitely choose this in the future. A few excellent restaurants in walking distance, one Thai the other Italian. Shaws also on easy walking distance. Staff were all exceptional.

The Old Port area of Portland is where all the action was at...
The Old Port area of Portland is where all the action was at for us. Lots of great seafood, live music, and shopping. It is a bicycle friendly city. Not very friendly for those who have challenges with walking however. It is located close to other attractions as well. Lots to take in and do.

South Portland seemed really nice, but we were just barely too late getting into town to view the Portland Head Light on our way to Acadia NP. They were starting to close the Ft. Williams Park gates, as we pulled up, even though it was still quite light outside... and we really wanted to visit the park.😭
However, we got some yummy ice cream at nearby Red’s Dairy Freeze.😋

The Town/City of Westbrook was fine.
The Town/City of Westbrook was fine. Typical small Maine town. Shocking actually to find that the prices of Lobster have increased so much there regionally. When I was stationed in Maine in the Navy, the prices reflected the fact that it was one of the largest Seaports in North America.

This is a gorgeous and rustic lodging right on the ocean and so relaxing!
Hearing the surf at night was amazing. It is a great family destination because there is a full set up for family cooking and being on an island means it is hard to lose the kids. It is set up dorm style so there is a shared men's and women's bathroom with multiple beds in every room. I would not want to fill the room with maximum number of people just to minimize the noise level but it could be done. There is a wonderful "great room" which is a large open space with a circle of chairs around the fireplace as well as kitchen/dining room on the lowest level.
There were some good restaurants on the island as well as a pretty complete grocery store.
We are going to plan a family vacation there for next year to spend a whole week.

We were in town for a show at the State Theatre, conveniently located across the street from the Westin Harborview. Along the way, we saw many intriguing landmarks, several beautiful churches, and a plethora of fun, eclectic shops and restaurants. I would have loved to stay much longer.

As someone from the county going to Portland was fun.
As someone from the county going to Portland was fun. Lots more to do than were used to, Dunkin close by, tons of stores for shopping. The mall was great, build a bear was a huge hit so was funtown splashtown and the huge arcade In the mall. The pier in old orchard is also a huge hit. You can find restaurants on the ocean and eat your lobster outside with a beautiful view.

This would be great in the summer as Rock Row is within walking distance but there are limited sidewalks from the Super 8 Motel. This is a heavy traffic area during rush hour.
Westbrook is an average small city.

So disappointing. Do not recommend.
So disappointing. Do not recommend. Uncomfortable for several reasons- room too hot, heater/ac would not regulate temp in the room. Extremely loud thumping and banging directly above my room all night long, shower nozzle broken, no coffee maker or anything in the suite, overall disappointment. Won’t stay here again or recommend to anyone. Do better.

We came to Portland for our daughter's college graduation.
We came to Portland for our daughter's college graduation. The hotel was a perfect location to restaurants, harbor cruise, shops and we also drove to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens - the Trolls were so fun and it was a great place for the kids
