One of the best places I have stayed in lamu

This was my first time in Lamu and i loved this hotel, it was in the middle of lamu town and very convinient to walk about and see the town, it was also right at the sea front and close to the jetty so we were able to easily catch boats to the other islands. This place is very beautiful, the antique decor was breath taking and intentional. I would highly recommend!

Gorgeous house with amazing swahili flair, lovely hosts. Seems like they contribute to the Lamu community in a big way, they are well known and loved with everyone I spoke to. Hotel staff will help you organize any outing you‘d like, I can recommend Dhow trips, but they also help with other activities (plus reasonable pricing recommendations). Eco friendly facilities and the breakfast is amazing with ingredients sourced almost exclusively from their own Lamu farm.

Everything!!!! Stunning environment, very quiet and peaceful. They have the best spa and amenities. The sweetest and nicest staff ever, they really made our stay worthwhile

The best stay ever!!! I couldn't believe that the place is exactly as in photos. In person it's even better. The staff as well are welcoming, very helpful with tours and they keep the place clean. I enjoyed the pool a lot!!

Everything about being in Shella countless times, is my peace. Ambience, Ben was available to assist with anything needed, good hospitality. And not to mention how accessible it was, you will find everything you need within that space from shops to hotels , beach view and sunrise.

The location ,great staff very helpful

The host was friendly and amazing. Gave us free Lamu tips and more, the room was clean, got a scenic Lamu beach view side and the cost gave a good value for money. I totally recommend.

The hotel is in a perfect location in the old town. Ibrahim the guy caring for the property is a perfect host. He is always available and ready to help with organizing tours, boat rides and will always try to get the best prices for his guests. . He has flexible breakfast time that suits every guest. The Swahili breakfast was amazing.

Beautifully decorated and clean with an excellent, friendly, and attentive staff , great location with easy walking distance to all activities and beautiful views from the top floor. Building had generators so we still had power when power went out in the area.

I loved everything in there the staff David and the other one they are so welcoming their captain athman too I enjoyed everything ❤️ definitely coming back again

The location, the architecture, the food and mostly the fantastic staff!

The house is a beautiful gem within old lamu town. The architecture is stunning, the rooms are freshened by fans and the pool is great to escape the day’s heat. The house staff is incredibly helpful and Peter was a great caretaker. We would also warmly recommend arranging a tour of the old town and of shela, as well as a boat tour if one wishes, with Abu. Abu is knowledgeable and loves his job; he is a great storyteller and a great artist (ask to see his recycled art). Walking around Lamu with him and learning about this unique place from him was a wonderful experience.

Gorgeous house with spacious rooms! We were a group of friends and had a great time relaxing around the pool and enjoying the wonderful hospitality of the house management. The interiors were absolutely stunning and very comfortable. The meals prepared were so fresh and delicious we often chose to stay in!

If you want an authentic experience in Lamu, stay here. Host Malik is excellent and responsive and very caring. He arranged all of our excursions with reliable informative guides and boats. We were prepared for mosquitoes but we really didn't have much issue with mosquitoes. Very affordable. The markets and shops in from the beach front are wonderful and Malik was perfectly willing to take us around which made us feel much more comfortable.

The house and the architecture

A fantastic 3 nights at Gaba Gaba house with Tommy and Abdalla. A beautifully decorated, impeccably kept house. Tommy is an excellent chef — his meals were sublime - and Abdalla organized everything perfectly. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
