I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and everything felt comfortable and relaxed. The location is absolutely amazing — right on the banks of the Ganges, with a truly special and peaceful feeling that you can’t find everywhere. Being so close to the river made the stay even more meaningful and unique. I really enjoyed my time here and would definitely return again in the future.

The location of the lodge is beautiful.

Receptionist Sujit was always there to help us and also helped us change the rooms since it was very humid due to winter conditions. Rooms were very clean, location is awesome and close to ghats.

This was my third or fourth stay at Scindhia Guest House, having first stayed there in 2006. It's a comfortable and welcoming inn to which I always look forward on my travels in India. The location is perfect for touring the ghats and riverfront, as well as the colorful galis (alleyways/lanes) around the ghats. The guest house is perched above the unique Scindhia Ghat. Simply looking out the window or from the balcony provides an excellent view of the activity on the river and ghats below. A two-minute walk out the door and down the outside stairs and you're in the middle of all the goings-on of river-bathing, boat rides, chai- and chaat-wallahs, cows, goats, sadhus, and pujas. I appreciated the security of gated entry and the constant presence of either the owner or other staff at the reception area. The room was very clean, with comfortable and neat bed (I asked for and was given an bright-white extra flat sheet due to the warm weather, as blankets were unnecessary), recently renovated, and well-lit by a large window that looks out over the river, as well as a door (with a useful external screen door) that opens to the balcony overlooking the river and ghats. The owner and his family are very helpful and friendly. He communicated promptly with me regarding transportation to the guest house from the train station when I arrived in Varanasi and arranged transportation onward by car to Mughalsarai train station at the end of my stay. I recommend the breakfast cornflakes with honey and banana, as well as the chai and other food. Overall, I highly recommend Scindhia Guest House and will definitely stay there again when I'm next in Varanasi.

The feeling of being at home. We were so well looked after especially when organising tours and visits to other sites.

My first time in Varanasi and this accommodation was excellent. Starting with the attention and care of the owner (Vikas). very attentive and helped us a lot with everything. Also, all the staff were very attentive! The hotel is very well located (in front of the Ganges river) and the breakfast was awesome. I recommend it 100%!!!

Perfect location if you want to experience the viber of the ghatts. Value for money too. Very good WI-FI which is essential in this city of semi-officially jammed internet signal. Another great advantage is the boat trip which is a must Varanasi tourists and is offered by the owner of the guesthouse at discounted price for his guests. In addition the owner is an excellent guide.

Great location and the staff were superb! Everyone was to lovely and helpful. The chef made us delicious breakfast and dinner during our stay. Our room was very comfortable.

Amazing hospitality. The owner and all the bhaiyas who work there are incredibly helpful and kind—they truly treat you like a family member. They made sure I had the most comfortable stay, gave great advice, and took really good care of me throughout my time there. The room was a decent size and very clean, and having access to hot water was a huge plus after long days out. The owner genuinely cares about everyone and goes out of his way to help. They can also arrange cabs and activities if you’re interested. I traveled solo and felt very well taken care of—highly recommended for solo travelers.

Best location. Authentic Varanasi atmosphere. The guest house is right on the bank of the Ganga river. Little temple inside the property. Clean bed. Hot water. Good WiFi.

A++ Exceptional Service! The host went above and beyond to accommodate me when I needed to extend my stay and even helped arrange everything for my temporary move to another city. The room was comfortable, with cold water always available, and the location was perfect. Everything was exactly what I needed and more. Highly recommended!
