Cheap hotels in Kusatsu

Hotel is located in the walkable distance to the city center with hot springs but they have also free shuttle buses. Rooms are in Japanese style. They serve Japanese breakfast also what was really interesting experience. Highly recommended

Large room,very quiet location,great Buffet with free beer and sake at dinner,good place to stay with kids.I travelled by car and they have an hourly shuttle to/from main area which takes 5-10 minutes,that’s very helpful as parking is a nightmare in Kusatsu central area.

The owners were lovely and spoke great English. We were able to use the private onsen multiple times!

Everything was great! Location, service, design. Welcome drink with sweets and breakfast are served right into your room! Also you can use onsen all night long, which is unusual.

The property is managed by the nicest staff you can ask for, very attentive and kind. The rooms are absolutely new and super comfortable, with floor heated tatamis in the winter! We loved the breakfast and the two private onsens are an amazing way to unwind after a day skiing. We’ll be back for sure!

The location is near the bus station and walking distance to the town center. The bedding is comfortable.

It was amazing! The location is central. It takes just a short walk to see most attractions. Our ryokan (Moegi) was spacious and so beautiful. The lady at the reception is a very kind soul and made us feel so welcome. The pudding made by her husband as a welcome gift was delicious. This was one of my favorite places from our three week vacation.

While the rooms are sparse w amenities, as indicated in the photos, it was a lot more cozy than the pictures look! Additionally, the shared space on the first floor are some much nicer and they’re not shown in the pictures; those pictures must be old. There’s a whole cozy kotatsu space that’s decorated and homey, and a whole dining room space to use too. It does not feel old or dreary (as the pictures look to me ngl); it is so much more established than the photos look!! Our room for 3 was perfect and they provided the most thick and warm futons I’ve experienced having lived in Japan for a few years now. There were extra blankets and even electric blankets available (the heater was weak). It was super warm under our blankets even without the heater on.

We only stayed one night - but we felt right at home. The rooms were big and very clean, the private onsen was a real treat! The location was really good, peaceful and 15 minutes walk to the center. The help we got from the lovely lady that hosted us was beyond anything we could have imagined ❤️ Thank you!

The host are really friendly, the thermal bath facility are really nice and cost only 150 yen, the room in in traditional japanese style and for me really confortable. Be aware thet the location is around 15 min walk from bus station and a little bit in the mountain but we enjoyed it. We walked to the lodge from bus station at arrival and the day after the host drove us to the station. So nice and friendly. Everything nice and Down to earth.

Lovely warm cozy place perfect for a weekend in Kusatsu. The owners are super nice and very accommodating. Highly Recommend!
