Our Inn, founded in 1913, consists of the main building as well as a separate annex called Pedalo, located a two-minute walk away. At Pedalo, guests are welcome to bring their own bicycles indoors, making it an ideal lodging for those who wish to explore the surroundings at their own pace. Due to the highly valuable nature of the wooden architecture preserved throughout the premises, our inn caters specifically to those who wish to immerse themselves in this cultural heritage. We also warmly welcome guests who seek to connect with Japan’s natural beauty through activities such as cycling and motorbiking. Please note that guest rooms are not all equipped with showers. Instead, we invite guests to enjoy our large communal bath, where one can experience traditional Japanese bathing culture as it has been for generations. By embracing these cultural practices in their authentic form, guests are naturally guided into the heart of Japan’s timeless traditions. This is a rare and enriching experience, distinct from modern urban life. For your comfort, the hotel’s heating, cooling, and hot water systems may produce subtle sounds at night, which are normal and indicate proper operation.

Property info

We offer various room types, including modern and traditional Japanese-style rooms, as well as rooms with private hot springs. Please note that actual rooms may differ from photos shown on booking websites due to variations in display. In support of the SDGs, amenities are provided minimally, with some available in the lobby. As our hotel is a historic wooden structure built in 1913, there are many stairs and no elevators. Meals are primarily Japanese-style and made with health-conscious ingredients. We are unable to accommodate special dietary requirements such as allergies, vegetarian, vegan, or religious diets. Facilities include a spacious public bath, a footbath near the lobby, and complimentary coffee service on the terrace at designated times. Guests can explore nearby nature spots via car-sharing or electric bicycles, including visits to Kunimura and surrounding mountains. Children are welcome, however, some room types may have age restrictions and may not accommodate guests below a certain age. All additional guests are subject to the applicable accommodation fee. Children aged 0 to 5 years will be charged 50% of the adult rate, while children aged 6 years and above will be charged the full adult rate. Please be aware that room descriptions using the shower room mark indicate only a toilet and wash basin. Only rooms explicitly labeled “with shower” or “with hot spring” include those features. Kindly confirm room details when booking. We are pleased to inform you that the major renovation work at the hotel has been completed. To ensure the comfort, safety, and quality of our facilities, occasional maintenance work and routine inspections may take place in certain areas of the hotel. During these times, there may be minimal noise or temporary inconvenience. The hotel offers facilities such as a microwave oven / ice machine (free of charge), and laundry services/ Vending machine(additional charge). For more details, please inquire at the front desk.”
