Carmila was a stop over on our way north, in the morning we visited the nearby beach, beautiful! Campers and fishers would get much more from the experience than we did. The pub was good. The servo was good. The beach was excellent.

Pub was a surprise with the food being really good and staff...

Pub was a surprise with the food being really good and staff and locals super friendy. The Cabin was rather tired and needed a good clean, but the bed was comfortable and the cabin had all that we needed for our overnight stay.

Nothing to like .

Nothing to like . Parking rough and muddy , 1 toilet substandard for all to share , shower block iffy , no water or kettle in room . Therefore reloaded car and went elsewhere . Expensive drinks at pub ( my Opinion ) and servo over priced so no would not even think of going back

Local pub had very nice food.

Local pub had very nice food. Playground at the beach was also very good. While the tide was out, we explored the beach area for a couple of hours! At the right time of year you could be lucky enough to spot whales and their calfs. Good spot to stop.

I didn’t see much of the town, I stopped overnight en route...

I didn’t see much of the town, I stopped overnight en route from Townsville to Rockhampton. However what I did see was picturesque and sweet. I had fatigue and an injured shoulder which was hurting after many hours on the road which is why I stopped, but in the future I think I will make Carmila a scheduled stop.
