Simply an extraordinary place in the middle of nowhere and nature, reached after a long and hazardous drive. Lovely guestroom with very nice furniture - a bit small though, with not many places where you could lay out stuff. Had quite some luggage, so would not have wanted to share the room with someone, not even with someone close. No TV in the room - and no need for it, as you can chat to the visiting parrots on the verandah and enjoy the fabulous views, go hiking or bird watching - which is the most amazing thing at O'Reilly's. (I recommend a hat and long sleeves for parrots landing on you.) If you don't want your room serviced (Green Card), you get a free drink at the bar. Delicious food, sparkling O'Reilly's wine and super friendly staff at the bar - which is like a restaurant, just a bit more casual. (Didn't try the buffet at the restaurant.) Free bird walk early in the morning, what an experience! Free afternoon tea, manager talk with free bubbles. Very welcoming reception. Didn't use it, but was at the Infinity Pool - it looks sensational, and the view! Over all, could have stayed there much longer than two nights. Simply outstanding. Tip: Best to go there during the week because more traffic on this extraordinary access road (blind corners, hairpin curves, one-lane sections etc) can be exhausting. Locals told me that O'Reilly's can be quite overrun on the weekend.

Mt Barney Lodge is an eco sanctuary immersed in the heart of the Scenic Rim. It truly gives you a chance to disconnect from everything else and enjoy being in nature. For us, it was a reminder that a simpler life is possible and it's not even that far away: Mt Barney Lodge is a mere 1.5hr (beautiful!) drive from Brisbane. It was our first experience there - we stayed in a cabin, the Forrester Hut - for the weekend and I wish we could have stayed longer. It has everything you need (except no wifi or tv/devices, which for me was a huge plus!). Toilets and showers are also very close to the cabin. Our two small children had so much fun waking up to the sound of birds singing and seeing the wallabies in the back of the cabin. My 4year old never wanted to leave. Two very important points: 1. Cleanliness. Both the cabin and the toilets/showers were very clean and with soap, dishwashing soap, paper towels, & toilet paper always available. 2. The utmost respect and care the owners have for the environment is unmissable. I truly appreciated this approach, being very attentive to sustainable travel myself.

17 miles from Border Ranges National Park, the vacation home provides a garden and a bar. There's an outdoor fireplace and guests can use free Wifi and free private parking.

The location photo did not do it justice. we thought it would be ahouse sitting on a block of grass next to the highway. It is a lovely enviroment and quiet. the instance we walked in the house we felt a sense of ease and relaxation. very tastefully renovated with wonderful kitchen facilities. Location fantastic for accessing Mt Barney and other walking areas. We will be back!

The perfect place to relax and reconnect. Beautiful mountain views, excellent facilities, and amazing hosts. The outdoor bath was gorgeous, the bed comfy, and the whole cabin was thoughtfully planned. Only 10 minutes from Tyalgum and a short drive to waterfalls and nature walks. The breakfast included was delicious and ample. Excellent wifi provided.
