Lake AForbes has been updated with tountains that are pretty as well as a walking track. I lived in forbes all my life. However in last 25 yrs since my last visit things have changed for the better. Lots of parks and the addition of mcdonalds kfc u cant go wrong giving employment to young ones keeping them in the towni just would not recommend BEN HALL MOTEL.

Forbes has a lot of history and for this reason it is an interesting town to visit. There are other villages and towns close by that are also steeped in the history of the central west of New South Wales

We enjoyed visiting the Sculptures Down the Lachlan - many...

We enjoyed visiting the Sculptures Down the Lachlan - many huge and impressive sculptures. There were also sculptures around town and lovely gardens in the public parks. Forbes has many historic buildings, in good condition. You could go bird spotting, with hides built to give good views of masses of birds on Lake Forbes. We had dinner at Club Forbes, a function one night and the bistro the next. We also did a guided tour of the Aussie Biscuit factory in town, which provides employment for local people with disabilities and makes great biscuits!

Forbes has some lovely historic buildings , well worth a...

Forbes has some lovely historic buildings , well worth a walk around. The Wetlands and bird hides are beautiful, a very picturesque and peaceful spot. The tourist information centre well worth the visit to see what else is in and around the town ( biscuit factory tours, sculptures by the Lachlan river etc). We really enjoyed our stopever here

They never spoke a word to us not once they never gave us...

They never spoke a word to us not once they never gave us toilet paper nor did they give us towels at the least customer service is a big thing you always offer people something but they spoke a word they never even said hello to us as we walked pass them numerous times throughout the day very poor customer service

Our accommodation at Appleyard B&B Forbes was excellent,...

Our accommodation at Appleyard B&B Forbes was excellent, well presented and very helpful people our visit was too short, we were en route to Mildura, we would like to return one day and take in more of the Forbes area, and would stay at Appleyard B&B we would definitely recommend this accommodation.

Gorgeous little cabin surrounded by fields and gardens. All the tiny details had been thoroughly considered in the cabin and it was such a lovely place to stay, pity it was only 1 night. The owners Amber and Josh, were so friendly and told us local information about the town and where to eat, which their recommendations were spot on. If your looking for somewhere to stay around Forbes, we would highly recommend 👌 Thank you 😊

Well presented queen bed room, very clean. We had a room on the back of the building so was quite. Club Forbes is just across the road for meals. We had dinner there and it was very good.
