I was unable to check in and the staff TXT me checked me in and turned on the heating to ensure we were comfortable when we got there as it was 1 degree in Parkes at the time. The Staff did everything to make it easy and welcoming for my stay. the room and bed were very comfortable and the shower size was exceptional. The water pressure was brilliant with plenty of hot water.

We loved our stay at Spring Valley Cottage. Very clean, very updated and nicely styled. It was peaceful and quiet. The cottage is quite large with great facilities like reverse cycle a/c and tv in each bedroom. The host takes great pride in their property.

Have passed through many times but never stopped.

Have passed through many times but never stopped. Decided to stop for 2 days and oh so glad we did. what a gem of a place. Last time we went through it was so busy, but now, it has been bypassed, it is a lovely place to linger. there is so much to do. From the helpful staff at the visitors museum (with a welcome cuppa and biccies) that also is the home of an amazing museum, plus Henry Parkes cottage with audio visual and a replica of Elvis's Graceland's gates with mural behind. Public Art is to be found throughout the town's business precinct. A highly interesting Aircraft museum pen Sundays and Thursdays is a must do. If you have longer venture along the Lachlan to Condobolin to see the amazing sculpture trail culmination in the utes in the Paddock at Condobolin. Plenty of accommodation options and lots of lovely places to eat, especially a quaint chinese resturant opposite woolies with amazing food. We will be back!

Just a Stopover town (or shopping town for nearby people) for long drives, Not much to do around. But it is on the cross roads of many cities. Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide ad Brisbae are quite Equidiscant

Compact town centre with all major shops and facilities...

Compact town centre with all major shops and facilities available. Nice parks plus a beautiful view from the war memorial hill. As per usual with these towns, the locals roar around everywhere in their cars and utes. Nobody seems to walk any more and you have to be extra careful crossing roads because you get very little warning of approaching cars travelling at high speed through the shopping precincts.

Parkes is an iconic city.

Parkes is an iconic city. We went out and seen the dish and then went home a few days later and watched the movie and researched the history behind how and why it was built in Parkes. We seen the memorial and played at a couple of parks with our 4 year old, and after grabbed ourselves an icecream from the ocecream shop on the main street. Perfect for an overnight stay with lots to do to wear out our 4 year old before an 8 hour drive home after a 6 hour drive the day before.

My sone recommended as he used to stay there a lot in the 2025 to start 2026 Reckoned it was clean neat and the pool was heated My stay cockroaches in the room pool Not heated but being late in they were food on having my room open and a light on but no aircon on I wonder through as they did that why they couldn’t see the dead cockroaches

Parkes is a great place if you're after relaxation and quiet...

Parkes is a great place if you're after relaxation and quiet. We have 2 children aged 8 and 10 and found plenty to do despite the remote location. You have the iconic Dish to visit, Dubbo zoo, Observatory, a lake not far to canoe, fish and swim in. Just a lovely place to visit to get away from the hustle and bustle.

Staff were very helpful with advice and contacts for within Parkes. The hotel is 2.5-3 km out of town but we enjoyed the walk and there was an excellent taxi service that we used on one occasion. We were a group of 4 women in the family room and the laundry across from us had additional toilet and shower if we wanted to use them. Very good value for money and very clean accommodation.

This Motel recently refurbished would put major city cbd hotels to shame, the careful thought put into the room facilities and decor is exceptional right down to slippers and disposable coffee cups supplied for next morning road trip.
