You feel like you are in pastoral Australiana at this property, even though it's a 15-20 minute drive to Mount Barker, Strathalbyn and the Langhorne Creek wine region. Barrie was an excellent host, providing beautiful, nutritional and filling breakfasts and lots of helpful information about the surrounding area, things to do, places to eat etc. Meeting Barrie's "girls" (Jersey cows) and feeding them potatoes was a highlight of this experience. The second bedroom had everything that was needed for a comfortable short stay, including a small fridge, bathroom, kettle and noodle snacks! Barrie has several seating areas in his beautiful front yard where you can watch the sun set and rise, and listen to and observe the many, many different bird species living and thriving in the surroundings.

Rainshadow Retreat offers accommodations in Gemmells Station, 30 miles from Victoria Square and 30 miles from Ayers House Museum. This property offers access to a balcony and free private parking.

Rainshadow Retreat definitely exceeded our expectations. The property was comfortable and cosy, and gave a feeling of serenity that you aren't going to get at a motel. All amenities were provided and the outside chimenea and bath were an excellent touch. Location is tucked out of the way enough to feel like a little sanctuary, but still close enough to towns and touristy hubs. Starlink was a nice bonus.

Monarto Safari Resort is located in Monarto, 5.4 miles from Monarto Zoo, and features a terrace, a restaurant and a bar.

I like the convenience of the breakfast packs. Love the location for seeing the town. The boxing being shown was a bonus!

Very comfortable room and bed. Breakfast pack supplied was excellent, really liked the fresh bread and granola. Wine tasting was excellent. Francesca made that whole experience amazing.

A Suite Spot in the Hills is a recently renovated guest house in Mount Barker where guests can make the most of the garden and barbecue facilities.
