Experience of a lifetime to be so close to the fantastic Australian animals over night whilst they are awake and busy. Everyone we came in contact with was helpful and friendly. The accomadation was very comfortable and nice and warm on a cold night.

Beautiful property and accommodations overlooking hills stretching to the ocean. You wake up to beautiful parrots in the mornings. Saxon and Glo are amazing hosts! Saxon took me Kangaroo spotting- saw a bunch! Flo’s spaghetti bolognese was amazing after a long ride on the great ocean road!

The location was second to none. The cottage is just steps from a beautiful beach along the Great Ocean Road, which almost feels like your own private stretch of coastline. It is also perfectly positioned for exploring the Otways and iconic landmarks such as the Cape Otway Light station and the Twelve Apostles. It was the ideal getaway from the hustle and bustle of Melbourne life. Would highly recommend!

This place was amazing!! I booked it super last minute (the day before literally) and it was the only place available for the long weekend. We’re visiting from Toronto for work but didn’t realize it was a holiday here! Nonetheless, we thought the rate was a bit extreme but since it was the only available place we did it without doing any research. Boy are we SO GLAD it worked out that way. Our stay was probably the highlight of our 3 weeks stay in Australia. This lodge has ocean views, kangaroos AND koalas! the sunrise with kangaroos was STUNNING. We found it busier with the kangaroos during sunset most. The place is huge, so well done. Everything honestly…. Was jaw dropping. We LOVED it. And though it was a random fluke that we booked this place, it was the best fluke of our whole trip to Australia!!

The views and solitude were spectacular. We rented Vista 4 for our family and Vista 5 for my parents. My mom said “you have to give her 5 stars!” Our stay was perfect. The linens were excellent, great kitchen amenities and supplies, and the wifi reception was great for the downtimes. Our favourite spot was on the veranda watching birds. The Twelve Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge, London Bridge, etc aren’t far (only a few kms) meaning you can get there before the crowd and enjoy the views quietly. Port Campbell is also close by, and has a great beach/bay for kids to body board - and lifeguards. A surprise favourite was behind the Princetown campground along the Gellibrand River. Beautiful cliffs, sandy beach and few people. Vayu Vista was the perfect spot for us to enjoy the Great Ocean Road and surrounds.

A really beautiful area - a mix of farmland, rainforests and beach cliffs! We ticked off some great adventures including the 12 Apostles, a waterfall, the Otway Treetop Walk and the Melba Gully Glow Worms. We also saw a few kangaroos which thrilled our exchange student. Lavers Hill is fairly isolated in terms of food options - we could only find a fine dining restaurant and a daytime cafe so we were stuck for dinner options and had to go to Port Campbell (40 mins away). I will know to pack more food for next time! It's also worth checking online for some of the walks in the area as a couple were closed due to the extreme weather we've had in the last month.

good accomation with good restaurant on the spot

good accomation with good restaurant on the spot quiet envirement but top for us ! We stayed one day longer than we planned and that was a good thing. The rooms are good /It is not HILTON hotel but for us it was a very nice basic motel. We've got excellent tips from Audry, the woman who was working in the restaurant. Very recommendable !

We used this motel because it was the nearest accommodation to the glow worms we wanted to see. The accommodation was very basic and in need of updating, it was okay for one night but would not recommend it for longer.

We loved being surrounded by nature in complete privacy.

We loved being surrounded by nature in complete privacy. As we wanted to have a complete rest the complete lack of internet reception was absolute bliss. Our little dog loved his stay. The billabong & glow worms were worth the effort, even in the rain. It did rain most of the time (July), but it was wonderful hearing it on the tin roof. Our advice would be to bring a warm jacket , layer up & embrace it. We recommend a visit to Nourished, as the weather was bad & it was quiet the staff member kindly allowed us to bring our small dog inside by the wood heater. The burgers were very fresh & the atmosphere is great. If you are traveling through Colac the lake & Botanic gardens are definitely worth a visit. Cons: If you do not enjoy drinking brown water, byo. We drank the water in our cuppas with absolutely no ill effects. We would definitely not recommend the property for anyone with even minor mobility issues as the shower is very difficult to exit & extremely slippery, with no handrails. We found the bathroom exhaust fan worked perfectly only if the bathroom door was open. Also, the lounge furniture is extremely low to the ground. A simple clothes airer/rack would have been excellent for drying the large towels & wet clothing.
