Amazing find of gorgeous, stylish, new cottage. Spacious and luxurious. Nicest place I stayed on all of my eastern Australia trip. Nice restaurant and cafe a couple block walk from the cottage. Loved the reception in a sweet shop.

The little cottage was comfortable and clean. Just out of town in a quiet bush setting. The host Martha was very kind and went out her way to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

Recently renovated three-bedroom house that feels very homely and spacious. The beds and lounge are comfortable, and there are thoughtful touches throughout, such as board games and extension cables in the bedside drawers. It’s only a two-minute walk to the bowling club, and there’s enough space in the front yard to park two vans.

What Guests Said About Lightning Ridge:

The Ridge is a very eccentric place with lots of character.

The Ridge is a very eccentric place with lots of character. We liked exploring using the car door maps from the information centre. The Artesian baths are free and very relaxing. John Murray gallery is worth visiting. Bruno’s has great pizza and the opal street cafe has good coffee. IGA is a well stocked supermarket. That’s apart from fossicking and shopping for opals.

Love the Ridge.

Love the Ridge. Great people, So many unique characters that are very friendly. A great sense of community. Shops like the IGA and local hardware and butcher have all your essentials. Plenty of places to go and things to do. Would go back anytime for work or travel.

We stayed two nights.

We stayed two nights. Went on the Black Opal four hour tour, hosted by Pauline. It was a terrific way to understand local life at Lightning Ridge. Pauline know a LOT about the town and about opal mining, from first hand experience. We also visited the Black Hands art gallery, underground. Wow! That is an experience not to be missed.
