How cost it was! Walking in to an already stoked fire and warm cottage was amazing on a cold and rainy day 😊 the wild life was an added bonus! The kids loved the wallabies, rabbits and the brightest colored birds we’d seen in Tasmania! We also loved playing the monkey game - thanks for stocking lots of fun things to do inside while the weather is a bit dreary.

it is our right decision to choose to stay here for 2 nights, a cottage with plenty of lovely details inside. after open the door into the cottage, it feel not right the cottage, it's like a home to us, clean and nice. a big relaxing area with comfortable sofa. a kitchen is full of needed facilities. we have 2 bedrooms with the one room that has the clear window facing the south to see a beautiful stars from inside the room. the beds are clean and comfy. the location is surrounding by nature, peaceful and calm yet it has the beach nearby just 2-3 mins walks. we love to be here, thank you to have us.

Gorgeous setting, immaculate and tasteful interior, and a hilarious informal 4 hole golf course complete with pademelons hopping thru it. The wood-fueled hottub was wonderful to sit in in the evenings, and my adult sons loved the experience of chopping wood. Hosts and their dog were so kind and welcoming!

The Shepherd's Hut is so wonderfully established and thoughtfully put together, that my partner and I regretted only staying 1 night! With fresh eggs, baked cookies and cereal on the counter on entry, milk in the fridge, and all sorts of teas and tasmanian blend coffee available - the owners showed care and consideration in making this a welcoming home. The environmentally conscious approach to the bathroom matched the asthetic of the tiny home feel and surrounding landscape, with Australian soaps and shampoos bringing native scents to the experience. Inside was warm and full of soft furnishings, with a heater and blankets there to take the chill away. The owners thought of everything you could possibly need - with plates, cutlery, cooking tools, a 2-burner stove, fridge, kettle and microwave available. The inclusion of books about Tasmania, games for people to play and a torch for the night was a wonderful bit of detail. Regrettably, we didn't have the time to utilise the wood fire, but appreciated the setup as it was positioned looking into the surrounding land. This is clearly a much loved accommodation and was a space we felt immediately at home in for our short stay.

The room we stayed in was the studio 1 and we enjoyed the views of the front lawn where we saw pademelons, parakeets and lovely birds. The bed was queen size and the SPA in the bathroom was a nice surprise as we didnt see that while booking the room. The room heater was working well and we had a comfortable stay even when we visited in November. The breakfast had the granola in yoghurt and freshly baked bread which was served 8:30 which was wonderful as the location didnt have many restaurants closeby.

Lunawanna is a quiet place to stay away from the main (!)

Lunawanna is a quiet place to stay away from the main (!) tourist area - actually nowhere on Bruny is busy. :) There is a pleasant walk, either along or behind the beach and the Lunawanna cafe is a short walk. It's a great base for exploring the island as nowhere is too far a drive. We stocked up with food at Woollies in Kingston and bought bread almost daily from the famous bread fridge. It has the best, freshest sourdough ever. We enjoyed some beautiful bush and beach walks and a swim with a small shark. (The shark was an unexpected bonus).

Nice and peaceful. Spotlessly clean.

Nice and peaceful. Spotlessly clean. Warm and comfy...wood fire was bliss. House had everything we needed. Dog loved mooching around the fully fenced garden and lying on the deck. Close drive to the pub for a lovely meal.

easy access to everything, the nearby Bruny island Hotel has a relatively short but simple menu, although very good drink selection, but the food was absolutely top notch brilliant flavours, good size helpings, reasonably priced for the dishes on offer, and prompt an efficient service. The cottage / cabin, was immaculately presented with impeccable taste, above and beyond what one would normally expect.

Lunawanna is a great, quite place for a relaxing holiday, away from the hustle and bustle of the usual tourist trade around Adventure Bay. The roads are good and it's not a problem to get around to see and experience Bruny Island's history and attractions.

The Bruny Hotel is an excellent pub and served up a beautiful evening meal without being too exorbitantly expensive. We had a fantastic lunch with wonderful wine and cider tasting at the local winery. The fresh-baked bread from “Bruny Island bakery”(a couple of old fridges by the roadside stocked with fresh warm bread) payment by good old-fashioned honest policy was an experience not to be missed. Lunawanna was handy to all these places.

Nice warm cottage with westerly water views. Dined out one night at the Bruny Hotel at Lunawanna and barbequed on the deck the last night very pleasant.Very central to the South Bruny Lighthouse,Cloudy Bay and Adventure Bay.Easy drives
