AustraliaThe place was ready and clean when we got there. Rhys was there to meet us. Rhys is EXTREMELY helpful and will always have time for a chat. The garden is VERY well kept (seems as if Rhys mows the lawn 3 times a week). Swimming pool and BBQ facility very well maintained.

The town of Merimbula offers comprehensive shopping.
The town of Merimbula offers comprehensive shopping. It is located central to any day trip from 30 minutes to one hour in distance. There are so many “walking” tracks and Merimbula Lake Apartments is a 15 minute flat walk into town. Parking around the shops is ample.
Many dining options are on offer both in town and surrounding areas with water views, whether it is the lake or the ocean. Seafood in abundance to either buy and cook for oneself or when out dining and there’s the thrill of seeing migrating whales (whilst having lunch at the Tathra Pub!

My husband and I stayed in one of the spa cabins for our 9-year anniversary. We travelled from Canberra and chose the spa cabin because we were looking forward to relaxing in the spa. Overall, we had a wonderful weekend away and really enjoyed our stay.
There are, however, a few areas that could be improved. The bed was quite firm and wasn't very comfortable for us. While lying in bed, I noticed that the ceiling fan had a significant build-up of dust, which made it clear that it hadn't been cleaned for some time. As someone who helps clean cabins for my mum, I understand how important attention to detail and cleanliness are, so this stood out to me and also having a cleaning business
We also experienced problems with the Wi-Fi. It would connect to the TV occasionally, but the connection was too poor to use Netflix reliably, which was a little disappointing.
Despite these issues, we still had a lovely stay and enjoyed celebrating our anniversary. With a little more attention to cleaning and improvements to the Wi-Fi, the cabin would provide an even better experience for future guests

Gorgeous beach and seaside village.
Gorgeous beach and seaside village. I’d not visited for many years - we used this as a stop over for coastal road trip to Canberra. Next time we’ll allow longer - Merimbula with its temperate climate and beautiful beaches is a perfect winter getaway from Melbourne during the school holidays.

Merimbula is a beautiful town with excellent choice of restaurants and clubs. The clubs (RSL and Sapphire) have first class menus, but there is a wide range of restaurants/eateries to choose from. The Merimbula Jazz festival, an annual event, in its 44th year during our visit, provides top-class entertainment.
The boardwalk alongside the lake is a "must-do".

I spent three days camping in free spots in Merimbula and one night in a motel to bathe, recharge devices and enjoy comforts, this is an excellent mix of accommodation styles. I love Merimbula, I am travelling up the coast from lakes entrance and this is my favourite town by far.

We came to Merimbula for our 40th wedding anniversary as it was our honeymoon destination. It obviously has changed in that time and it's still a very nice place to visit so it brought back a lot memories of our stay back in 1986.

The apartment was quiet and in a good location - only a short walk to the lake/river and one of the beaches. A flat walk to the town centre is about 15-20mins. The apartment was clean the reasonably spacious, but fairly basic. The manager was great and helped us with a few things. We loved Merimbula (first time visitors) and the beautiful, beaches, headlands and lakes.

What a great place to stay. Lovely hosts, a wonderful view and a beautifully presented, spotlessly clean one bedroom apartment. Would highly recommend to anyone requiring accommodation in Merimbula.
