Mt Morgan is a delightful little rural town with loads of history woven through its streets. The museum is excellent, well curated and informative. Definitely a highlight of our visit. A pleasant stop for anyone interested in Queensland history or small-town charm.

A great historical town with lots to explore.

A great historical town with lots to explore. Out stay at Ferns Miners Rest was fantastic and the perfect place to stay for a few days to check out the railway and mining museums. The local dam is on our list to see next trip as we just ran out of time.

'The Mount' is an historic place in Australia, was once the...

'The Mount' is an historic place in Australia, was once the most gold prosperous town in Aust. Quaint shops up the main st, bakery, and a couple of pubs (3) were a lot more back in their day. The railway is an interesting place, sadly no trains anymore. There is a large museum in the main st, well worth the entry fee, which isn't much.

Loved the fresh / real frangipani's on the beautiful snow...

Loved the fresh / real frangipani's on the beautiful snow white towels . The owners were genuine down to earth and caring, friendly people who made sure we were well looked after, highly recommend! Close to all the sight seeing and the local food was top notch too :)
