An old style hotel with lofty ceilings and access to a breezy verandah. There is a communal kitchen with fridge where you can cook. Some stylish cafes in town, and a pleasant river walk. Excellent aviation museum nearby. A prosperous, tidy town.

I absolutely loved my stay at The Abbey! The hostess Jenine was kind, welcoming and friendly. From the moment I arrived I felt comfortable. The room was large and tastefully decorated. It opened out to a stunning balcony where I enjoyed watching the sunset. The breakfast the next morning was delicious! Overall, I loved my little getaway. Just what I needed. Narromine is lucky to have such a gem. Will definitely be back.

If you like aviation or cricket, then this is the place for you. We didn't get a chance to visit the aviation museum, as it was closed when we arrived and opened after we had to be on the road the next morning, but we would consider going back to town just to visit that. A must-see is the Glenn McGrath statue in town, although it isn't life-size. This is a typical country town with a slower pace of life and lots of historic buildings. We highly recommend the Royal Hotel for dinner. Better food than we can get at our local restaurants and takeaway shops in suburban Adelaide, friendly staff, a comfortable setting and it looks like it's straight out of the set of a bushranger movie from the outside. Unfortunately it seems that the passenger train line/service/station is no longer operating, so if you don't drive you have to take a bus. We were passing through to visit family on the NSW coast and decided after our last trip that Narromine looked like a much nicer place to spend the night than Dubbo. We were absolutely spot on.

We only stayed for 1 night in Narromine.

We only stayed for 1 night in Narromine. Not many shops, and mostly closed when we were there. Coles is the only large shop. It was quite good for the size of the town. We stocked up on a few grocery items. The Glen McGrath statue is on the right hand side , in a small park - as you enter town , heading west. The Rotary park beside the Macquarie river is very good. We had a nice Barbecue tea. Plenty of nice grassy areas to unwind and relax. We were short of time, this trip. We would have liked to visit the Aviation Museum - Hopefully next time.

For us, it was an overnight stay and we did not arrive until after 4pm and left around 9am. We know it has an aviation museum which we would have liked to visit if we had been able to stay longer. Perhaps another time; we had a deadline.

Narromine is a small country town.

Narromine is a small country town. Locals are friendly and I would recommend the Courthouse Hotel for a meal and friendliness. Narromine is easy to get around and at this time of year the Iris Farm is the place to go and see unusual irises in flower and you can buy the iris tuber.

The best (and only thing) to do was a visit to the Aviation Museum. It was great. Everything else was very poor. Meals at both USM and Bowling club were not good, service was poor. Accommodation at the Stockman Motor Inn was disgusting!

Went to Narromine United Services Memorial Club about 6:30 pm on a Thursday and I was the only diner in the dining room. The distances shown from centre on booking.com for Stockman Motor Inn and Abbey Bed and Breakfast are wrong.
