AustraliaThe property owner gave me a curtesy call to inform me the keys and rooms are ready while I am out biking. Upon handing over she provided a property tour and pointed out things to help with our stay. The free breakfast cereal, bread and milk were lovely bonus.

Set in a quiet town with beautiful scenic surrounds, all viewable from the front porch, it felt like a peaceful retreat. Thank you very much to Paula, who was great with communication. Check in was seamless. Can't wait to come back :)

Omeo is a beautiful location in the Victorian Alps.

The roads to get there are in very good condition and the history, walking paths and extensive eating places make it a great place to stay either overnight or on the way to seeing more of this beautiful part of Victoria.

Beautiful part of Australia, we enjoyed a fantastic meal at the local pub. The women in the kitchen were rocking it. Plenty of people in town enjoying the long weekend. Our trip was too short to have a good look around (came for the Peaks Bike Challenge) but next time we’ll stay longer.

I was passing through Omeo on an extended motorcycle roadtrip so I really didn't explore the surrounds, but the accommodation and access to good pub food was all that I wanted, and exactly what I got.

Very interesting town with a rich history.
Very interesting town with a rich history. Fantastic place for walks and bike riding. Especially liked the effort that has been made with the bike tracks and the artistic wooden bike riders along the path.

It's not easy to reach, but you won't regret the effort!
Well preserved colonial era buildings - Post office, bank, etc - nice parks surround it, and IT'S CLOSE TO THE SNOW!! 😃
The town pub has fairly good grub, there are several cafes and a bakery.
Nice for a short stay.

Omeo is a fascinating sub-alpine town, with a long history, including gold rushes and associated lawlessness. There are some lovely historic buildings and good interpretation. There are also the beginnings of a major mountain bike trail network, which will be completed in stages over the next couple of years. Omeo is a good base for skiing at Mount Hotham (much easier access than through Harrietville). In summer, it provides an alternative route to Falls Creek and the Bogong High Plains. There are also some excellent walks in the vicinity, including to the Oriental Claims historic area.

A fantastic stay at Homeo Alpine Property. Loved that kitchen was so well equipped and although an older building, heated up really quickly. Really something for whatever vibe you’re after - bbq on the deck, fire pit in the backyard, relaxing bath with a view, tv with streaming services or cosy fireplace inside for cheese and wine! Partner particularly liked that it was only a short bike ride down to the Gravity Dirt Co shuttles in town so he could head up the mountain and try out to the Omeo trails.

A beautiful home on the hill with everything you could ever need! Cooking utensils, a washing machine and clothing line, boardgames, fireplace... We are definitely coming back! Not far from town and the Omeo mountain bike trails.
