Location was perfect, very central for either going out to Stanley or along the coast pass Devonport. Wayne was an excellent host, helpful and informative. Had heaps of local lore to share. Made you feel like a friend visiting him for a few days. The room was spacious and comfortable with great views up and down the coast.

The eating options were limited on Sunday and Monday but pub meals were good. The two IGAs offered all you need. There were very good souveniers in quaint shops and an excellent visitors centre. Parking was plentiful in the main street and the Big Penguin and sculptures were great for tourists. Penguin is definitely worth visiting.

Penguin is a cute little town situated between Ulverstone...

Penguin is a cute little town situated between Ulverstone and Burnie on the north coast of Tasmania. Penguin is a quite, beautiful town, perfect for a relaxed holiday. Penguin has a fantastic indoor local market that operates every Sunday, as well as a number of gift shops that feature art and crafts from local makers (check out Coastal Blooms on Arnold Street). There are a number of food options, including local pubs, fine dining and fish and chips, but I loved Penguin House Asian Fusion - they had a fantastic menu, friendly service and great value for money. It is very easy to walk around Penguin, being mostly flat in the main town area, and low traffic. My friend and I did a lot of walking around the town as well as driving to local tourist attractions such as Wings Wildlife Park and the Caves at Gunns Plains, the township and brand new night time light show at Devonport waterfront and the restaurants and shopping in Ulverstone.

Loved the location, the views, the cleanliness. Loved everything. Matt, the host is extremely easy to deal with. It’s a beautiful area, some lovely easy walks, and the people are so friendly. We hope to return soon.

Enjoyed seeing the train coming through the centre of town!

Enjoyed seeing the train coming through the centre of town! Lovely street appeal with flowers planted, Tardas library box and giant penguin, playground etc. Enjoyed food at the Penguin Pantry and Thai food van.

Penguin is beautiful seaside town on the Northwest Coast of...

Penguin is beautiful seaside town on the Northwest Coast of Tasmania. The town has excellent cafe's, art craft and gift shops and a fabulous brewery restaurant. An esplanade between the main street and beach is a great area for children to play and adults to relax. There is a scenic walkway through the town and along the foreshore extending beyond the township itself. Ferndene and Mount Montgomery within the Dial Range and behind Penguin, are also beautiful and ideal for bush walking. A lovely town and excellent holiday location.

A beautiful little coastal resort north west Tasmania.

A beautiful little coastal resort north west Tasmania. Everyone was so friendly especially the lady at the Information Centre. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beautiful accommodation with everything we needed. We will return one day. Absolutely loved it. Lots and lots of choices and a bakery to die for.
