We stayed for two nights. The studio river view (Room 9) was perfect for a couple. Great views, well organised kitchenette. Very serene. Erin was exceptional for her hospitality and service. Highly recommended. Great value for money.

The accommodation was spacious, comfortable, private and clean. We loved the outdoor living in the beautiful garden and covered sitting area, where we saw many colorful birds; two photos below were taken on the property. The BBQ worked well for us. We liked that you could cycle 2 km along a gravel track following the river to get supplies.

We were mostly interested in hiking around Mt Buffalo, and...

We were mostly interested in hiking around Mt Buffalo, and it was perfect for that. Also there is a cafe within short walking distance of the site which has reasonable coffee and a *huge* breakfast wrap on offer. Not fancy, but very hearty, and a good start for a day's hike. Bright has fancier accommodations, but we were burned by one of those (read the fine print!!) on Expedia. This was a fallback that saved the trip, and a very pleasant one at that.

A quiet town just outside the hustle and bustle of Bright...

A quiet town just outside the hustle and bustle of Bright during Easter, and only a 10 min drive to all the features that Bright has to offer. Great location to visit Mt Buffalo, Wandiligong, Myrtleford, wineries, etc.

It is a beautiful part of the world near Bright and Mt Buffalo in early summer. There are supermarkets available, great cafes and pubs. For those seeking more exercise there is hire bike riding along gazetted trails and river sports. This time of year, we enjoyed brisk evenings, hot days and a cleansing burst of a rainstorm. There are several camping establishments to choose from.

Porepunkah was a fantastic little spot.Really enjoyed breakfast at the the Beard and Brew cafe. Porepunkah pub was also a winner -delicious meals, stunning views of the mountains and good old fashioned friendly, country pub service with lots of smiles and laughs. Enjoyed the views of the river along the walk paths, and the proximity to Mount Buffalo, Bright, Myrtleford and Harrietville. Lovely little town!

A sleepy town with one good Pub and a great cafe.

A sleepy town with one good Pub and a great cafe. The Porepunkah Pantry was closed which was inconvenient as the closest supplies were in Bright. Accommodation staff could have mentioned this at check in. Riverside loop walk (3.5km) is pretty and possible for runners as well as walkers. The Rail Trail for me was less interesting as a runner...there was always the reality check that it's right next to the main road.

Porepunkah is a small l town with limited facilities, but in close proximity to Bright (10mins drive), which has everything you could need. The Punka Pub is a first class venue, with great staff, excellent menu & atmosphere. Great gluten free options & space for you to bring your dog. Lots of options for cyclists, hiking and adventure activities in the area.

I absolutely loved every aspect of my stay at Alpine River Cottages, I was a little stressed as we arrived late but Narelle reassured me that is was more than okay. Will definitely be staying here again in the future as it was an amazing experience and Narelle is so wonderful and friendly, I felt so comfortable and like I was staying with a family friend instead of at a hotel.
