Property was incredible!!! The ladies the run the place helped us with the ferry situation and even gave us some soup since we arrived late. We are so so grateful, they have made our experience so special!!! The rooms were very nice, showers and bathroom were perfect. Kangaroos spotted outside!! Koala walk we saw 15 koalas!! Do stay on this island, it is so peaceful and will leave you feeling so much gratitude!

Arrival staff were friendly and helpful, the private spa barrels were wonderful, the room was beautifully furnished with no expense spared on floor finishes, linen, furniture, Japanese crockery. Ambiance from lighting and the planting outside was beautiful. Arrival chocolates and prosecco cans was a nice touch, and the breakfast hamper was lovely. Bed was super comfy, and the heat lamps in the shower, and heated towel rails were great!

You can spend the whole day on Raymond Island as there are many things to do. The entire island is a nature reserve and can be viewed by car, bicycle (incl rentals), boat (incl rentals) or on foot. The island has a population of kangaroos, koalas, echidnas, rabbits, lizards and much, much more. The bird life is many and varied including the hard to spot 'Tawny Frogmouth'. The ferry runs regularly and into the night carrying cars, boats and caravans etc. There is a small charge for visitors by car but free for pedestrians and four legged friends. Currently there is a small van supplying drinks and food at the ferry landing point on the island.

The Koala Trail is a must-do, offering close-up encounters with native wildlife amid tranquil bushland. Take a short ferry from Paynesville and enjoy the relaxed coastal vibe and stunning lake views. For a bite, try the local cafés in Paynesville — Pier 70 and Waterview Bakery are great for fresh, local fare.

we have been to Raymond island before and stayed in the area...

we have been to Raymond island before and stayed in the area near the Koala reserve. This property is at the other end of the Island and so is very quiet.. take bicycles for a great way to explore without needing a car.

Aside from a coffee cart near the ferry terminal, I don't think RI has any other businesses, which means the only things to do are koala/kangaroo/bird spotting and relax (or water sports, if that's your thing). It's the perfect place to step away from city busyness and appreciate nature.

We enjoyed the beaches and the Koala walk!

We enjoyed the beaches and the Koala walk! Just being on the property was amazing. The close proximity of the wildlife was just wonderful. The ferry was very well run and did not stop us from enjoying the town of Paynesville.

we parked on the island, took a free-for-pedestrians ferry...

we parked on the island, took a free-for-pedestrians ferry to Paynesville and easily walked around to cafes and restaurants. Arturios is a terrific latin restaurant and 3880 has pizzas , pastas and parmas. The floating tin shed had a live performer singing. Great bonus. Kids everywhere on bikes in Paynesville and exploring Raymond Island. Really nice destinations for people who want a slower pace and want to relax and for families.
