What Guests Said About Saint George:

Visitor information service excellent.

Visitor information service excellent. Very pretty town, well set out with lots of History. A cotton town, you could do a scenic drive following prompts to various places in the region, which was very good. couple of good tours , River and Wine/ Cotton were worthwhile. Plenty of places to eat, then a delightful stroll along the River to walk it off! Great rural town, even the sandscape golf course was good value.

Most attraction goes to the beautiful Bolonne River.

Most attraction goes to the beautiful Bolonne River. Lovely foot walks at the side of the river including children play area and exercise machines. It was a great destination to be. Lot of people go there for camping and fishing. You can see often most of them enjoying the river by kayaking, riding jet skies, and water skiing.

St George is mostly a stopping point to break an Outback journey. It is a very small town of largely agricultural workers for the cotton growing industry. We visited the Riversands winery for brunch and wine tasting, both were excellent. The artesian hot pool on the main street was very inviting but we declined due to the strong wind. There was nothing else of interest. There is a Foodworks superette and a couple of pubs.

St George is a great town.

St George is a great town. It is well maintained with good facilities. The river walk was very enjoyable. We stayed at the Australian Hotel that was very comfortable with delicious food, cold beers and wonderful staff. The town was bustling with other travelers and we enjoyed a nice morning tea at one of the cafes.

The bed was comfy, quiet location but a fairly depressing outlook from windows onto a gravelly carpark. No fly screens so unable to open any windows and one set of louvers held together with a towel. Too frightened to investigate that as the thought of it falling apart to let mosquitos🦟 in was far worse than fresh air. Honestly it was only $92 so I suppose that is what I should have expected. Oh forgot to state no hot water at all so I skipped the shower thankfully as the floor in shower recess was not looking that good.

The visit to Riversands Winery was well worth it is only approximately 5 minutes from town. The sunset 2 hour cruise on The Balonne River with Brett of Sandytown River Cruise was well worth it, very informative and engaging.
