We loved everything about Hotel Steinbock! The hotel is in a great location right in Pontersina. Our room was full size with plenty of room. The public seating / lobby was cozy and relaxing. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options, with some of the best fresh baked breads we have eaten. The fondu stubli provided a great dinner experience, with very friendly and attentive wait staff.

This is high in mountains, and used by skiers, but we stayed...

This is high in mountains, and used by skiers, but we stayed as a treat, somewhere unique, hot tub is great, and lunch/ meals were lovely. It does seem expensive but rate does include return cable car ride, 4 course dinner with coffee and buffet breakfast, so actually not too bad for a special treat.

Well located and can be reached by public transport. We walked from Ozpizio Bernina to Cavaglia and that was beautiful. The next day took the bus right outside the hotel for 20 mins to our hike to Saoseo. The sauna is very new and a great add-on for 10 francs per person. The pizza at the pizzeria was the perfect dinner. Service wasn’t too fast but it doesn’t need to be when you are in the mountains.

The problem with the hotel is that in winter there is no way to go from the nearest station. And if someone does not have a mobile phone, they will die of cold and will not be able to reach the hotel. If you call the hotel, they will tell you to go 2 stations ahead. Then the hotel will take you, but before 6 pm.

i did not know but in winter many days the road from train station to the hotel is closed due to snow. The Ospizio's manager was so kind, picked up me in another station and transported us to the hotel. Very beautiful place. Good breakfast i will repeat

Room was very clean and since we left the hotel the first morning at 5 we received a lunch package which was EXCELLENT. We had breakfast on our second morning and the choice was amazingly good - we loved it and can recommend it!!!

A very beautiful hotel with a warm and cozy atmosphere. The room was spacious with a comfortable mattress. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the dinner was absolutely delicious!
