United StatesBeautiful location in the countryside just outside the village of Castelnau-de-Montmiral. We only stayed one night but would love to return for a longer stay. The host is very friendly and the breakfast was delicious. It was a cool day when we visited in late September, but in warmer weather guests can enjoy the pool, which looked fab.

There is a really good restaurant next door to the hotel; perfect for days/evenings when you don't want to leave the village. It feels special to stay in a place that is classified as one of the most beautiful villages of France. It is also close to other classified villages (Bruniquel, Puycelsi).

What a fabulous stay !
After being greeted outside the stately stone country villa by our English speaking hosts, Jonathon and Elizabeth, and their very friendly black labrador, Alfie, we walked through the front door into an atmosphere redolent with cooking aromas and were led upstairs to our bright and airy high-ceilinged bedroom with smashing views of the surrounding countryside, framing the ancient medieval hill town of _Castelnau de Montmiral. In addition to our room, we also had reserved a prix fixe dinner, prepared by Liz from locally sourced ingredients including home-smoked local trout and ham from Jon’s capacious smoker. It was one of the most magnificent meals we have ever had in France, delicious, elegant and imaginative, and served in a graceful dining area that doubles as a solarium and gallery of beautiful botanical drawings. The next morning’s breakfast (included with the lodging) was also generous and excellent and served in the dining room and solarium, where we reluctantly prepared ourselves to leave.
We’re already planning our next visit!

A lovely quaint hotel in a small historic village on a hill. Marc the owner speaks excellent English and is an excellent host. The rooms are very clean.
An excellent fine dining restaurant is next door, and there is a cafe in the square.

Lovely restaurants in local beautiful ancient villages. Beautiful views from the breakfast terrace and pool. Hosted brilliantly and attention to our needs exceptional. Albi a must do visit close by and lazing around the beautiful pool area. Kitchenette very well supplied and handy!

refurbished hotel in an old house just in the middle of Castelnau. Nice room and bathroom.
Best view from the room on the square place of the village!
Breakfast was nice with a possibility to take on the terrace outside. Free Parking available a 50 m of the hotel

Just a lovely place in a beautiful French village surrounded by vineyards. It is just idyllic. The hotel is in a square in the centre of this hilltop village. Just a gem of a place. We had our dog with us and the hotel was very accommodating.

The Town Is históric and the main square is beautiful . There Is a great restaurant opposite the hotel in the square . Lovely place to walk round . There was a small market in the morning .
