This is a wonderful place to stay when visiting the area for Mary Magdalene, hiking, or biking. The space is peaceful, quiet, and very clean. Its location offers easy access to all of the well-known sites as well as some hidden gems. Marc, the owner, was very kind—not only providing helpful information about the area but also offering to personally guide us to our points of interest. His knowledge of the history and mystical traditions surrounding Mary Magdalene, and the places where her presence can be most strongly felt, is remarkable. He is especially well-versed in the history of Rennes-le-Château and shares his insights with genuine enthusiasm. Marc’s deep love for this region, combined with his appreciation for American culture 🇺🇸 and his excellent English, makes you feel instantly at ease while traveling in a foreign country. His warmth, expertise, and generosity of spirit make him an exceptional host and tour guide.

Hotel Cartier is a classic French hotel, squeaky clean and bright. Comfortable room and beds. Large, secure garage to park our bicycles for the night. Lovely breakfast. Central location in town, walkable to restaurants and shops. Friendly and helpful staff, I would return.
