The host and the property were splendid. Like staying on someone’s private estate. Comfortable. Clean. Unique. Peaceful. Really enjoyed the place, but what was so special was the host. My husband wasn’t feeling well during the stay, and the host offered to make us a dinner so we would not have to go out for the evening. Amazing consideration, and care from a very human place. This is what Travel is all about. Would love to go back.

Beautiful room and terrace opening on to vineyard, with view across to Saint Cirq la Popie. Perfect 4 day stay spent relaxing by the pool, in the vineyard, or day tripping. Great breakfast on terrace, and superb restaurant 100m down the road. Would go back anytime - can't recommend this place highly enough.

Pros: breath taking beauty, calming nature, lots of great hikes and food. When we were at hotel or just walking around the nature I felt so at peace Cons: as Americans we were made to feel extremely unwelcome in many establishments. I speak a little bit of French, but have a hard time understanding fast speech. We were mocked multiple times when people thought we couldn’t understand them. When we asked for help in various situations we were greeted with hostility or laughed at and ignored. So maybe skip this area if you don’t feel comfortable in your French speaking abilities.

The hotel is in a perfect position for exploring the local area, and we enjoyed bike rides, cave visits and canoeing. There are places to eat nearby and a small supermarket and petrol station. The pool was a lovely to relax after a busy day and had great views. The staff were helpful and tried their best to understand my bad french! They supplied a really good picnic for us for our day out. The room and the rest of the hotel was lovely and clean and the room cleaners did an excellent job.

The family apparment we got was very big and very nicely renovated. It looked like a designer hotel with great interior ideas. I really felt in love with this place. Nice terrace to get some sun in the morning while having breakfast. The host was very kind!

Hôtel Les Gabarres is a functional and comfortable hotel, though rather expensive for what it is. It seems to be benefiting from the lack of competition. The breakfast was delicious and the staff very friendly.
