Absolutely brilliant experience at the Fox and Pheasant. Gorgeous location with LOTS of beautiful walks. Staff very attentive, efficient and kind. Our room small but very, very comfortable. Food/pub gorgeous, cozy, atmospheric. What a delightful surprise & didn't want to leave. A feeling of being way out in nature with all the comforts.I Highly, highly recommend this!

Travelling up to Scotland last Sunday ,(18/02/24) with my friend and dog we booked this as a mid stop over and were so pleased we had also booked it on return journey yesterday. It was perfect, couldn't fault a thing. 2 lovely double bedrooms, tastefully and comfortably furnished, clean, well equiped... On Sunday we enjoyed a delicious meal in The Pheasant, the food was top quality. The ice cream was the best I've tasted. Last night as tired we decided just to eat in as the cottage really is a home from home. Ate in the spacious kitchen with log burner alight then retired to the lounge. A lovely evening and end to our holiday.

Spot on, I have no complaints the place was brilliant. Nice and clean, hot tub was stunning, the area was so quiet and chilled out too it was a really nice place, very easy to get too and the staff were brilliant.

The atmosphere in the Fox and Pheasant was very friendly...

The atmosphere in the Fox and Pheasant was very friendly with a large cross section of ages enjoying the place. We dined there in the evening. The food on the house menu looked great and in addition there was a todays special which we chose from. The food and the service was excellent.

Beautiful way to enter the Yorkshire Dales area.

Beautiful way to enter the Yorkshire Dales area. Great walking everywhere (Hadrian's wall + walks along the river), train runs through the town. Had not heard of it before we came, but were most impressed.

It is a really good area to stay as it is close to so many...

It is a really good area to stay as it is close to so many attractions. On the River Eden with beautiful walks and views. Excellent places to eat in Armathwaite and nearby. (highly recommend Fox and Pheasant). You need your own transport to get around. We have not found anything to avoid in the 4 years we have been coming here and come at least twice yearly.

There is so much to explore in the area as it is close to...

There is so much to explore in the area as it is close to Scottish border and 'The Lakes'. There is something to see and somewhere to go in every direction. I ate at several local places. The Fox and Pheasant do really good meals/snacks and I had a lovely Sunday Lunch with relations at 'The Heather Glen country house'. You really need to have your own transport for this area to be able to explore. I don't think I have found anything to avoid yet in 4 years of coming here.
