FAQs about hotels in Blackburn

What Guests Said About Blackburn:

Don't stay here.

Don't stay here. They take an additional £50 off you on arrival, in case you damage the room, however our room was shabby, dirty and damaged already. No lift in our part of the hotel and no offer to help with bags-had to ask. Scaffolding up outside our window, tiny window and no air con or way to cool the room on what was a very hot couple of nights, light in bathroom flickered, shower screen didn't fit and let so much water under it that it flooded the bathroom, badly cracked tiles in the bathroom, towel rack had been pulled away from the wall on one side, wifi very poor (tried to work in the evenings but couldn't), rude staff member on check in, stained seat pads on the chairs, no spare/extra pillows available, stains on ceiling, peeling paint on window sill, warped and peeling panels on bath, not very clean. Spoke to manager, who was lovely and asked us to give them another chance and said would contact regarding a return stay, but never heard from him.

Located on the NE side of Blackburn, the hotel is best suited to business users or leisure guests breaking a journey. The hotel is alongside a fuel station and a few fast food outlets -just what is needed for an overnight stay. Parking is ample and safe, but it is NOT free, as advertised on the Booking.com info page. In fairness, I believe the system has only recently changed to a £3.00 per night charge operated by a contractor. We stayed for three nights because we were guests at a wedding in Blackburn. A visit to the nearby Oswaldtwistle Mills retail outlet helped to fill a free morning, but Blackburn is not short-break 101!

Hotel only suitable for people who are happy to drive or get a taxi from train station as a few miles and not in Blackburn centre. I was lucky to have friends from the local area to drive me from the train station and to reach entertainment at the Manchester Co op arena.

I did go out for a walk once or twice a day and do get a chance to drive around the town. Great historical town, friendly people, nice walks due to the inclining and declining clean streets. Nice little cafes and restaurants. Clean crisp air can have rain a couple of times during an hour or walk but could be due to the rainy season during my visit.

I had the choice between Hilton by Hampton and this property. I’ve stayed at Hilton by Hampton before, and while those are your typical franchise hotels, this place offers more of a “home-like” feeling. That said, there are some drawbacks: • The rooms don’t have air conditioning, a fridge, or bottled water. • My sink was blocked on arrival, though maintenance came to fix it. • There’s no electric car charging on-site, even though the car park is large. • The building layout is confusing, and the signs directing to the rooms could be much clearer. Paint was peeling and crumbling of the windows and doors due to lack of attention and up keeping. On the positive side, I really liked the bed and duvet, and I actually got a very good night’s sleep—better than I usually get in other hotels. If the owners paid some care and attention this can be a stunning boutique hotel with its charm and character.

Blackburn has changed since last time visit, the roads are clearly signposted for ease of access around the town. With it being an industrial town and administrative centre of the Blackburn with Darwen borough in Lancashire. places to visit: Blackburn museum, walk around Witton Country park and Blackburn Cathedral

We had an excellent one night stay at this hotel. Location is perfect, close to everything with shops right opposite if you need anything. The room and bathroom was spotless with good water pressure in the shower. The walk in shower was a nice size. The king size bed was so comfortable and breakfast was great with a huge variety. I would definitely chose this hotel again when I'm next in Blackburn 😊
