This building is old and well kept. It was a great location from which you could adventure round the isles or sit and relax. Andrea and Paul are exceptional hosts and the food was spectacular.

The place was incredible, beautiful views from the breakfast area and the common lounge as well as my bedroom. The owner was so accommodating and friendly. I had a tour booked while I was there and this was so great to come back to and rest after a full day of exploring. They've got a fully equipped kitchen you can use and fridge you can store a couple things in, and a dining room and lounge that's communal but perfect for an evening staying warm and enjoying the view.

A truly wonderful Shetland country experience! The Da Ha, with its charming personality and wonderful owners, Robert and Jill, makes everything feel truly special. It sits on a high bluff with a stunning view of the loch and sea cliffs—it’s pure serenity, complete with chickens wandering the peaceful grounds. Our stay was made even better by the thoughtful touches in our cute, puffin-themed room; the bed was comfortable, and having robes and slippers provided was a lovely treat. We also really appreciated the quality amenities, like the large towels and the impressively spacious bathroom. The layout is very guest-friendly, with access to a kitchen and a perfect area for chatting with other guests. Jill gave us some fantastic "off the beaten path" suggestions for things to see nearby that we never would have found on our own. You can really see the owners’ passion for the bed and breakfast. Plus, it’s pretty cool that the home was used as a location for the BBC show *Shetland*!

The house has been nicely renovated to make it suitable for a group of five like ours. We loved having the little shop next door and seeing lambs and bunnies from the kitchen window.

i was quite shocked at how little shops and restaurants were on the island, we did go on the 28th December until 2nd January and the majority of the shops in Lerwick (the capital of Shetlands) were closed until 6th January, there were very limited restaurants open, so cooked at home in the lovely rental property that we had. There were 2 pubs (but not what you would expect as pubs) in Brae and a CO-OP and a leisure centre, thankfully the CO-OP was open all the time, and there was a Chinese take away that was open and a fish and chip shop that was closed. The pace of life is slow, if you don't mind cooking for yourself, its a great place to go, if you like eating out, then its 23 minute drive to Lerwick........but remember Scotland has a ZERO TOLERANCE to drink driving, so NO ALCOHOL and driving what's so ever, so you always need a nominated driver or Taxi, which would be tricky i would expect. Overal a nice chilled out trip, although if the property wasn't as good as it was, you could be counting down the days in the winter months

Twin room, bed comfortable pillows fabulous, warm, very very basic. Poor pressure on hot water, very small towels absolutely no frills at all. Breakfast options many if you like fried English breakfast, we didn't and we're told we couldn't have poached egg nor scrambled. Had the fried English options only once as tasteless, could do much better here. Suggest: providing free toiletries, upgrading to Andrex or Cushelle, providing large bath towels, improving hanger situation very old fashioned, and buying better ingredients and cooking less rather than piling on the fry up so a better start to the day, we didn't bother with breakfast after the first one. Evening meals weren't impressive either, though last night better than had been. Fish and chips across the road is a must. Missing lots of opportunities to upgrade.

Very clean and bed comfortable, third night evening meal delicious Very impressive Up Helly AA shield collection displayed in the foyer and the staff were absolutely lovely, charming, pleasant and friendly Didn't like: rest of the meals, breakfast options great only if you like a fried English breakfast, really tasteless. Municipal decor, poor pressure shower, unbelievably cheap toilet roll! Come on Brae splash out on the Andrex, it matters!

Staff and shetlanders in gene were so friendly, probably the friemdliest people we have come across in the uk. Also food was cooked to perfection. Brae is located out of the busyness of Lerwick with lovely scenery and great views. The road surfaces in shetland are the best in the uk. We did not come across one pothole, not one and we drove the length and breadth of shetland. Even minor roads were immaculate. We shall be back for a longer stay for sure. My old beloved vw polo (my girlfriend is none too complimentary about it) lost its brakes. Jims garage were absolutely fantastic, taking the car in at no notice for repair arranging a replacement car, and returning the polo repaired in a couple of days and at very reasonable cost. All staff were super friendly and super helpful. Our whole shetland experience was amazing. Janice and Nigel

The hotel is very easy to find, it has also a large parking space (in front and aside). Rooms are spacious (bedroom and ensuite bathroom). Great place to stay if you intend to do (longer) walks in this part of the Shetland's (Esha Ness, Muckle Roe, Ronas Hill, etcetera), but of course you do need a car to get to the starting point of these walks. Good English breakfast (no fresh juice though). Great dinners: tasteful and nicely served, service impeccable. Would surely stay here again, seems the best option in this part of the main island.

Liked · Malcolm the manager and all the staff were excellent, especially Sergio the mad Italian :D couldn't fault them. Location was good for what we needed. Disliked · The bathrooms need an urgent upgrade as do the doors to the rooms including locks.
