We were competing on the Roger Albert Clark rally and as we had to leave too early to have breakfast on the first two days bacon sandwiches were made for our party of eight to take with us. On our final evening when were celebrating finishing the event we had an excellent meal and staff stayed late to serve us.

Travelling up to Scotland last Sunday ,(18/02/24) with my friend and dog we booked this as a mid stop over and were so pleased we had also booked it on return journey yesterday. It was perfect, couldn't fault a thing. 2 lovely double bedrooms, tastefully and comfortably furnished, clean, well equiped... On Sunday we enjoyed a delicious meal in The Pheasant, the food was top quality. The ice cream was the best I've tasted. Last night as tired we decided just to eat in as the cottage really is a home from home. Ate in the spacious kitchen with log burner alight then retired to the lounge. A lovely evening and end to our holiday.

The location was a little out of downtown but a very short stroll to get there. It was nice to be out of the way.

First and foremost, the host, Eddie, was the sweetest man ever. He made me immediately feel welcomed and was very kind and helpful. The cottage itself was in the perfect location to take short trips to Hadrian’s Wall, Carlisle Castle, Talkin Tarn park, and more. It was well fitted with every amenity needed for a short stay and was a perfect getaway for my dog and I. Eddie also left a variety of snacks (fruit, coffee, tea, juice, milk, cookies, and fresh bread) which added to the homey-ness of the place. The separate garden was the perfect place for my dog to run around and have some off-leash zoomy time.
